Most likely! I was gone for the weekend (again!), so I need to catch up with email. I'll update the list tonight!

Paul!, sorry for the late response - hopefully we can squeeze one, maybe two more?

Me (jdandeneau) and the misses (tentative).

Thanks,

John

Thank you, sir...

jdandeneau...I know that two have canceled today, so I'm sure it's not a problem.

Hi all - unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this evening, my real estate agent found an excellent house for us to view and (of course) says it can't wait. So I'm pretty excited, but sorry to miss the gathering.

I do, however, have the 10% off coupon for the Tortilla Factory. If anyone works/lives in the Herndon area (Exit 10 - Centreville Rd off the toll road and at the intersection of Sunrise Valley Drive) and wants to stop by to pick it up, I can put the coupon in an envelope and put it under the windshield wiper of my MINI. I'll be here until at least 5:30... just send me a PM and I'll tell you what office building I'm parked in front of.

Thanks!

As COOPERation said, it shouldn't be a problem! We'll fit ya in somewhere!

Loxycoon,
That's a shame! See you that the next event then!

Sorry Folks

But I'll have to bail at the last minute. Due to some events that happened this weekend in O.C., I won't be able to make it tonight. Hope everyone enjoys themselves!

Sorry!

I'm going to have to bail also. Just realized it's almost an hour and a half away (better or worse depending on traffic, and it's still rush hour) it's quite a ways away, and the wife isn't even off work yet, and may be working late. If we were on the other side of the beltway, or if the event was a bit later we'd be able to make it.

Great time

It was great getting to meet everyone and start putting some faces to the names! We're definitely there for the next one.

I hope the bill worked out okay and Paul! wasn't left short on the check

The check...

...actually, it did come up rather short again, but a couple folks happily chipped in extra $ to help cover. What was it, 30-40 short Paul? Didn't want to see one person, Paul stuck holding the whole thing. It was far enough off (again) that I'd encourage folks to take careful note when ordering of meal and drink prices. Also remember they automatically add a 18% gratuity... and restaurant taxes can be a bit high some places, didn't examine the bill to know if Herndon is one of those much in excess of the basic 4.5%...

That's unfortunate - I actually overpaid before we went outside because I know the accidental tendency of those type of things to come up short.

Thanks to you and others who pitched in.

No sweat...

I wasn't going to bring it up till someone asked. Not looking for thanks in pitching in, especially since others pitched in above and beyond too and I can't recall names. But need for folks to know as it's a pattern...

I.E. my number #3 was $7.95, and I had a ice tea. Knowing how these things come up short and watching Paul counting I had a idea it was looking short so I initially put in a $20. When he was done it was still pretty short so I put in another $20. Others then kicked in extra too and Paul gave me back $10 of the second 20 spot.

But my $7.95 dinner plus ice tea, tip and taxes ended up at $30.00...

I will chip in some more when I see folks again. Just cuz I hate when this happens and I've ended up covering shortages before.

I tossed in $10 to cover a $3.95 bowl of soup and a sprite.

Argh, that really sucks... I wouldn't have gone outside if I knew the bill was short... but it does seem all too common with large groups. I had a $9.50 meal, and a $6.50 margarita. That comes to $16, plus tax ($1?) plus tip (I figured $3 would cover that), so I put in a $20 bill and left it at that.

I am one of those people who HATES it when people shortchange a large check, and I am more than happy to pitch in extra to prevent one person getting stuck. I'm sorry I walked out, I should have stayed too - next time I will. I will also pitch in a couple of bucks to Paul and Mark the next time I see you guys.

One important question though, did the "10% discount" coupon get used? I recall it being mentioned above.

Didn't know about the 18% "tip"
I'll make sure to pitch in extra next time.

I doubt anyone did it intentionally, I'll check with MMiller when he gets home to make sure we covered our meals...there were 6 of us, and 2 pitchers of beer, maybe we need to pay more, I'll check...we treated our out of town guests and our daughter's bf who showed up late...J's a stickler for making sure he crosses ever t and so forth...

Did anything FUN happen besides the downer on the bill?

I know we had fun
