Sounds good. When you say "his forum", which would that be? Do you have a link?

Thanks,

John

Greetings,

I have two images from Mike with proposals for decorating the bonnet and roof on my '05 CR/W MC and I would like to post them to this thread, but I can't figure out how.

Are the directions somewhere online or in the FAQ?

Little help?

MTFBWY,
--Will

PS - a few minutes after writing the above I decided to put the images in my Gallery. See Star Wars MINI Idea 1, and Star Wars MINI Idea 2. The difference is in the bonnet design. I am leaning towards idea 2.

You mean like this?

Idea #1:

Idea #2:

The FAQ of how to do this is found here.

Which is better? Its a tough call. Both are sweet

Well, they're both killer, but I prefer the one without the center stripe (#1). Just personal preference, but I like it because the logo's larger. Either way, you're going to have one sharp(er) ride.

The Incom logo goes on the boot along with boot stripes.

An Alliance logo goes on the gas cap door and on the opposite side of the MC in the same spot. Under the pilot side port turn blinker there will be five Imperial logos to mark "kills".

Later I will work on some mods for the interior.

I have two more slots that opened up do to someone not being able to make it for the install party.

Check the time slots. If you where thinking of getting a roof graphic, Sunroof graphic, or standard side, boot or bonnet stripes I can fit you in at these times.

Cheers

Window Tinting

Carlos @ Solar Solution asked me to inform everyone that he uses Suntech Tinting film, with a life time warrantee against fading. Plan to pay a little more if you want the tint across the windshield, I think he said $40 more. He carries 45%, 35%, 20%, and 5%(being the darkest). He does carry another brand, CARBON something, which doesn't interfer with antennaes that run through the back windows. I don't think that applies to MINIs, though.

Hope that helps.

Just so I'm clear on it, the lower the percentage is, the darker the color, no? And no matter what percentage we decide to go with, it's still gonna be the $100, no?

And another question, does it really matter what brand to use? I'm just curious. Not too knowledgable in the tint brand dept.

Yes, the lower the % (being the % of light allowed through) the darker the appearance.

Be sure to ask if the install includes the sunroof or not (if you don't have a sunroof graphic being installed of course). I've heard many folks tint the sunroof with 5% to cut the direct overhead sun better than the mesh screen that comes standard with the MINI.

There was another thread (search "Window Tinting") where someone posted links to the legal allowances for tint in MD, VA, DC. In case you want to minimize the amount of times you get pulled over by a bored or curious police officer.

My MINI arrives in a few weeks and I'll be getting 45% all around (except front windshield) and 5% on the sunroof.

Joker,

I already have you down for 9:00. I think 12:00 is taken now plus I don't think I would have time to get your stripes done If I waited till 12:00. Can you still make it a 9:00?

$100 plus

Joker,
I'm pretty sure Carlos mentioned to me that the carbon tint was more expensive. Plus, I think the $100 does not include the sunroof. That's a good point, though, might as well tint that, too. Remember, windshield is extra, too.

The adidas mini is a fake. Photoshop. I tried to get them to sponsor a mini for me but they didn't have any money in the budget this year so I ended up getting a silver mini instead. Not sure if I want to go ahead and do it myself.

Randy Webb has started a thread on his forum to start scheduling Pullies and other performance mods.

To help answer questions on pricing see this thread.
