Yes I have a MINI, but talked to you today about my van... I'm going to hussle and make some decisions this weekend, and contact you again Monday about ideas.

...Cause I just realized this install party was a bit further off than I thought, though I understand it's close for prep for you, and don't know if there'd be time to create before then, much less install Fri? or whenever.

In any case I'll come to firm idea and contact you Monday about whether that's feasable.

Just made my appointment with Carlos at Solar Solutions for 4 p.m. on Sunday. Man, Sunday is gonna be a day full of Mini-ness.

My schedule as of now:

Sunday, Oct 16
8 a.m. - 16% pulley
2 p.m. - Graphics
4 p.m. - Tint

Now, between 8 and 2 - what the heck should I do?!

What should we do in the way of cleaning our minis prior to graphics?

If someone is Zaino'ing, I'd like a lesson!

 

Maybe we could teach her the finner workings of Zaino on one of our cars . After all don't we need some kind of paint protection under the vinyl

 

I think you have to strip the wax before applying any vinyl on the car.

 

Oh crap . I thought I had to build it up . Maybe Mike can tell us what to do so I don't waste my time waxin

 

This is what Mike replied in regards to wax..

"Don't wax. but claybar would be great. I take to ribbing alcohal to the surface before apllying the stripes."

Anyone know if there is going to be a place where I can wash my car nearby?

 

Let me rephrase that. Claybar removes improfections in the paint. The cars 'don't need to be washed but it would be nice. I spray the areas down where I am applying vinyl with alcohal/water mix to remove wax buildup and clean the surface.

There's a place about 2 minutes or less from where we're gonna be at. I'm pretty sure they're open on the weekends - you have to pay for it and depending on what package you decide, you get a nice sparkling clean MINI. When I did the integra right before I sold it, it was $80 for a full interior/exterior clean. And it was EXCELLENT! I ended up giving a full $100 ($20 for a tip)

There's also a few do-it-yourself ones nearby. One about 8 minutes or so up on Rt. 1 and another one off of Rt 1 on Contee Rd. I'll see if there's more and try to get addresses.

Oh and BUMP! Less than 2 weeks away!

Sidenote: A friend (non-mini) got his tinting done by Carlos last week (extended the deal price to him - a bit more since not a mini) and he is so happy with the tint job. Said carlos did a a great job.

BTW Carlos called me today. He has a guy right next to him that is a detailer. The detailer is offering a great price on detailing for the mini folk.
