What type of files can I upload to my gallery?
You can upload image files (.jpg,.jpeg,.png,.gif) or multimedia files (.jpg,.jpeg,.png,.gif). Regardless of format, each file must be less than 6MB in size.
How much space am I allowed?
Each member of the site, unless otherwise noted, is provided 12MB of space. This space can be used for photos (.jpg,.jpeg,.png,.gif) or multimedia files (.mpeg,.mpg,.avi,.asf,.wmv,.mov).
How many files can I upload at one time?
You are allowed to upload a maximum of five (5) images during a single upload. Each image must be less than 6MB in size. Keep in mind that all uploads are counted toward your personal quota of 12MB.
What is an album and how do I create it?
An album is simply an additional way to organize your gallery space. For example you have several autocross pictures you want to share with friends from last weekend. You create an album so that when they are uploaded you can put them all in the same area of your gallery. To create an album:

  1. Click on Album Admin as shown below


  2. Click on Add Album
  3. Enter the album name, description, and whether you want it to be private. By selecting private you will be provided a URL that you can email/PM to friends on the site so that they can see the images in the album. Users browsing your gallery will see an image of a lock indicating that a password is required to view this album.
  4. Click Add Album to create the album.
  5. Now that the album has been created you can select it as the destination when uploading images.
How do I move my photos into an album?
To move an existing image or multimedia file in your gallery into an album:
  1. Browse through the thumbnails of your gallery to find the image you wish to move
  2. Click on the thumbnail to open the image
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the image, and click Move/Delete in the Admin Options section
  4. Choose the album you wish to move to from the drop-down box on that appears below next to Move photo to:
  5. Click Submit
How do I upload one or more images?
To add images to your gallery:
  1. Click on Upload Photos as shown below


  2. Choosing the category where they will be uploaded (be sure to select an album if you wish to have these images grouped together)
  3. Click Choose File and browse your hard disk for the picture you wish to upload. You can select up to 5 files for upload at a single time. Each image must be less than 6MB in size.
  4. Click Upload/Submit
  5. Once the images have been uploaded make sure the proper category is selected, enter a title, description, and keywords (if appropriate) for each image. If there is an image you do not wish to upload just deselect the check box in the Add column.
  6. Click Process Files
  7. Once the process is complete click Click here to return to main menu
How can I use one of my images in my signature?
If you want to include a picture in your signature (see User CP > Edit Signature), and that picture is not already hosted elsewhere on the Internet, do the following:
  1. Upload your picture into your member gallery or a particular album
  2. Once it has been uploaded you have two options to consider:
    • Use the thumbnail of the picture in your post
    • Use the full-size version of the picture in your post
    Whichever option you choose simply CTRL-click over the image of choice and select Copy Image Location (Mozilla), Open Image in New Window/Tab (Safari), Properties (Internet Explorer) and copy the resulting URL for the picture.
  3. Next, go to User CP > Edit Signature
  4. In the editor select where you wish to insert the image and click on the button
  5. Paste the URL into the box provided, and click OK.
  6. Your image should now appear in the editor
  7. Complete your edits and click Save Signature
If for some reason you do not see your image:
  • Check the URL of the image to make sure it is correct.
  • To change the image in your signature simply edit the signature, highlight the area of the image, and click the button to make changes to the URL displayed.
Please note: All signatures must adhere to Site Guidelines including requirements for Signatures and Signature Sizes. Violations of these requirements may result in your signature being edited or removed without warning.
How do I include a picture from a gallery in a post?
If you want to include a picture in a post, and that picture is not already hosted elsewhere on the Internet, do the following:
  1. Upload your picture into your member gallery or a particular album
  2. Once it has been uploaded you have two options to consider:
    • Use the thumbnail of the picture in your post
    • Use the full-size version of the picture in your post
    Whichever option you choose simply CTRL-click over the image of choice and select Copy Image Location (Mozilla), Open Image in New Window/Tab (Safari), Properties (Internet Explorer) and copy the resulting URL for the picture.
  3. Next, go to the post where you want to insert the image.
  4. Click on the button when editing your post, paste the URL into the box provided, and click OK.

I have a multimedia file, how do I link to it in a post?
If you wish to include a link to a multimedia file (for example, a mpg of an exhaust system shootout):
  1. Upload your multimedia file into your member gallery or a particular album
  2. Once it has been uploaded click on the thumbnail of the file
  3. CTRL-click over the image of choice and select Copy Link Location (Mozilla), Copy Link to Clipboard (Safari), Copy Shortcut (Internet Explorer) and copy the resulting URL for the file.
  4. Next, go to the post where you want to insert a link.
  5. Click on the button when editing your post, paste the URL into the box provided, and click OK.
  6. A link to the multimedia file should now appear in your post.
If for some reason your link does not work:
  • Check the URL of the image to make sure it is correct.
  • To change the link in your post simply edit the post, highlight the link and click the button to make changes to the URL displayed.
How do I delete something from my gallery?
To delete a image or multimedia file from your gallery:
  1. Browse through the thumbnails of your gallery to find the image you wish to delete
  2. Click on the thumbnail to open the image
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the image, and click Move/Delete in the Admin Options section
  4. Check the box next to "Delete Photo?"
  5. Click Submit
How do I get to the old NAM gallery to retrieve pictures to show in my gallery?
Follow this link to the old NAM gallery, locate your photo, copy it to your hard drive (if it isn't there already), and upload it to your new NAM gallery just as you would any other photo.

NOTE: The old NAM gallery will only be active until the end of October 2004. Please retrieve any of your images from the old gallery that you wish to preserve.
