OK, I'm back. A hectic but fun 2 weeks at the beach, and then my sister and her family were here until today. My 3 1/2 year old nephew only broke 3 things, but he did gouge the begeezus out of the new cherry floor...lordy.

So, the party's still on, come hell or Katrina. We won't lose power cuz of the new generator, and there's plenty of room to hang out inside. I'm going to ask that y'all come as close to 3PM as possible so that Paul can get to bed at a reasonable hour. He will not miss a race day!

I will do a head and dish count from the replies to this thread later.

Haemish, I'm very disappointed, son. Perhap another time....

See you all this Saturday!

Just to confirm -- we will BOTH be there. Last week, Elizabeth was given the green light to move about without restrictions although she still finds the cane comfortable. We even went to a Frederick Keys game last nite (double header, Keys won both in the bottom of the 7th and are in the playoffs ).

Elizabeth says she'll breq up some yummy dessert.

Hey guys...I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it after all. I have folks coming over on Saturday to pick up furniture and I will be beginning to move the rest of the stuff to the building next door. I also have to deliver my cat to my friend's apartment because she is watching him for a bit before I can get him out to Cali with me.

If anything changes I will let you know, but as of this point, with my move date VERY fast approaching (I'm leaving on Tuesday), I'm not sure if it will be possible.

Too Late?

After missing the last two events, is it too late to RSVP for this event?

What should I bring? Any suggestions? Dessert?

aw Lauren..how are we going to say goodbye? Damn I understand your time constraint, tho'.

Beanbag, please do come. I don't have anyone bringing snacks, like chips& dip or a raw veggie platter. Could you manage at least one? Thanks.

OK, this is the final list that I have, including who's bringing what:

Mark (MDSBRAIN)
The Babischkins
Great Bear (you better show up, dude!)
Marina + James Pasta salad
Paul!
Matt + ?
Tom + Elizabeth Dessert
Jen
Mark M
Janelle
Sally Cookies
Steve
DeCrema + 2 Tomato's with bazil and cheese
Beanbag snacks or a veggie plate

If I forgot anyone, that doesn't mean that you've been "uninvited". It just means that I forgot. Please add your name to the list and what you are bringing.
PLEASE NOTE: I have limited parking in my driveway, even for MINIs. The board members will already be here and will probably fill the available spaces. When you do a mapquest on 627 Old County Road Severna Park MD 21146, you'll notice a block south from that address a street called Roads End. PLEASE PARK THERE AND WALK. It's only a block away and your cars will be perfectly safe there.

If there are any questions, please post them here or PM me. If you want my home phone #, PM me as well.

OK, with the gas crisis starting to happen now for the southern states (NC included), it's very likely that I won't be going on the trip... which means I should be able to make it to the picnic!

If I DO come (I won't know for certain until tomorrow), then I need to know what to bring.

Katie, you'll know best what you have plenty of and what you're short of. Just let me know... keep in mind I need to be able to buy it - I'm no cook, and I don't think I'd have time between now and then, even if I was!

I think everyone should bring veggie/dip platters so when I arrive I am the Hero of the Day with my home-made chinese food.

Yes, Matt you are the hero.

I'll be bringing "Stuff from my kitchen" I'm in the process of cleaning out the cabinets -- I promise it will be good, just might be an odd collection of stuff though.

Hugs,
PB

Okay, it will just be me this weekend. I was trying to bring in a potential recruit but one of her friends in coming into town this weekend and she won't be able to make it. But she is up to other events later.

If I was to bring things from my cabinets we would end up with:

peanut butter
fluff
bacon bits
croutons
risotto
dried red beans
walnuts

Good thing I am not trying to be a hero and I'm bringing the veggie tray!

a jar of bacon bits as a snack? ew.

Ok I apologise for the confusion...Jen a veggie platter is perfect, as is an artichoke salad, Paul.
Edge my son, I'm glad that you're coming after all.

I'm going to have enough for around 20 people, maybe 25. Please make your salads, desserts, et al. enough to feed the same.

---->Bring something to sit on as well...I think we'll be outside a lot, as the weather looks perfect. I don't have enough seating for everyone, so please be prepared.

Bacon bits -- - probably not.

But can we discuss the fluff????

After a quick look in my cabinets, I may be bringing some pound cake, yellow cake, lemon cake combo with icing and LOTs of jello and pudding. Sound yummy?

Maybe separate items.

Hugs,
PB

Apologies

I'm sorry, but I have to miss this party. I am extremely bummed by it.

Long story short, I have to help a friend move this weekend, and through my own stupidity and neglecting to check on this thread, I assumed the party was the following weekend and I still was going to come. Of course, I can't get out of the move.

This is so typical of why I should just wait till the day before a gathering and commit to it then instead of saying something early on, since with the way things have been going for me, something will inevitably happen to screw things up.

Katie can fill everyone in on the details if you are curious.

Apologies to all.
