Greetings!
A good friend in Centreville just picked up a loaded '04 MCS, and I'll be his on-line presence!
The car came from a state not requiring a front tag, so we got the part # and pricing from MINI of Sterling Parts Counter. They offer a 15% discount from "list price." Anyone better out there? For example,
Front license plate bracket - P/N 51 11 7 030 068 List $51.25 MoS Mail Order
$43.56
MINI Car Cover - P/N 82 11 0 300 266 List $197.00 MoS Mail Order $167.45

Thanks to Chad Mohler for pointing me in this direction.

Talk to Herb at Sterling. Tell him your from roadfly.org and want the discount price. He is excellent at this. I think anything of $100 is shipped free (not sure).

Herb is the one who gave me the price quotes. I've also sent the gang at Classic a note.
Thanks for the help!

We have a MCS without a front tag and so far it has passed VA inspection twice without it. No tickets. Maybe you don't need to spend the money at all?

But, I would go with Classic for the best price.

Yeah, the tii is a lot like the modern Cooper S. I had a '72 tii and kept it for years. When I tried the MCS with SX220 package, I thought about my fuel-injected (big deal back then) flying shoebox. Guess that's why I bought the BMW-built Cooper. Enjoy your tii as long as you can.

The
problem with that is since he lives in VA hes gotta pay sales tax now. And they won't let you pick up the parts you buy if you want the roadfly price.

True about sales tax. Better to buy from Classic in that case.

However, not true about picking it up if they install. They allow that.

Where is best place...
...for good quality, metal, plain black license plate frames?
I need two with four holes for an MCS plus, while I'm at it, two with two holes at top for an Acura CL-S. Suggestions appreciated.
John.
