Upcoming auto-x or track days

Can we make this a sticky if there are any replies?

I'm interested in finding out when/where the upcoming auto-x events are. I suppose I could check out the SCCA website, etc but it's easier to just ask around here. I need to get some miles on my new helmet and wheels/tires.

Thanks...

M

It might be on. Wasn't there one this past Sunday but it got cancelled because of the rain? A friend of mine was supposed to go but she said it was cancelled. She didn't say anything about it being rescheduled to this weekend.

Cheers,
The next WDCR-SCCA auto-x event will be held on the Sunday the 12th of June. The remaining SCCA events can be found here.

As I stated in the Tate Breakfast thread, there is an auto-x event this weekend.

Next weekend the Philly SCCA is running an event up at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD. Info about the Philly club and their events can be found here.

The event last weekend was called 'Auto Show in Motion', sponsored by GM. The SCCA event was on the 8th of May and it was a wide open and quick course.

For the most parts SCCA Solo II events are not cancelled due to rain. About the only thing that stops or slows down an auto-x event are:
  1. timing problems - mostly a lot of waiting around until they get it fixed
  2. lighting - same rules as the local pool, running can re-start 30 minutes after the last sighting
  3. participant or spectator safety issues.
Rain for the most part will not stop an event unless, see #1 above. Running in the rain or on a wet course is a lotta fun. It is just another part of the course to overcome.

A few rain shots. No MINIs I am afraid. HS, GS, STS, STX in our region tend to run almost together so I am either waiting to drive or working when MINIs are running.
