It's cool to know though that there's another 'me' out there!
-Paul!
If Paul is wearing his PJ's - I may just have to come in mine and my slippers.
Hmmmm... slippers not so good for driving. Will bring the slippers and change there.
Oh, and I will bring a pillow and a comfy robe.
Does anyone know what we are seeing yet?

We will start out at the Apple House just outside Front Royal, VA right off of I-66 at 6PM for an informal dinner. They have good all-day breakfasts, and a fantastic BBQ platter. Plus, apple-cider donuts! Mmmm... After dinner, we will have a short but fun drive over to the Family Drive-In located between Front Royal and Winchester, where we will watch the latest and greatest in cinema from the comfort of our MINIs.
When: Saturday, May 25th, 2005, dinner at 6PM, then gathering at the theatre at 8PM.
Where: Starting at The Apple House, then traveling to the Family Drive-In Theatre in Stephens City, VA, just off of Rt 11 South.
Why: What better way to see a movie than in a MINI?
How: Well, in a MINI, I hope! To get to The Apple House, make your way to I-66 on the western side of DC. Travel west on I-66, and exit when you reach Exit 13. Make a left off of the exit ramp, then a right at the stoplight. The Apple House is on the right immediately after the Mobil station. There's parking on the left side of the Apple House, with a big parking lot in the back.
I will have route sheets at the Apple House, and will also post a copy here soon.
Dinner will cost you about $7-10 a person, and the movie is $7 for adults and $3 for children. (Although I'm going to try and get this cheaper!)
We also have our choice of movies.
Screen 1
---------
Kicking and Screaming
and
Coach Carter
(Didn't I mention that it was a double feature?

OR
Screen 2
---------
Monster-In-Law
and
Hitch
(Personally, I recommend Screen 1 as the thought of watching Jennifer Lopez 'act' frightens me!
)
If you would like to participate, please RSVP soon!
RSVP to events@dcmetrominis.org with name, number of people, and number of cars.
I hope to see a bunch of you there!

Here's a link to the directions I will be using from my house. If anyone else wants to take a chance on using them as reference, you're welcome to...
Chad
I would opt for Screen 1 myself... I've seen both movies on Screen 2 anyway.
As for J-Lo, I'm no fan (can't stand her music), but I actually think she's a reasonably talented actress. She's a better actress than a singer IMO... she should just quit the music business and become a full-time actress.

I have no problems with celebrity mind you, I just don't like seeing the same person plastered everywhere.
(This is intended for Lisa A. I tried to reply, but my mail addresses seem to have been blocked to your account!)
Lisa,
Assuming that you're referring to the Drive-In run, I'll check the cost (if any) for non-members and get back to you.
Take care,
-Paul

Lisa & Edge,
This event (& most others) are open to members and non-members alike. However, we ask for a fee of $5 for non-members to cover the clubs' liability insurance for the event.

Edge, if they're riding with you then you don't need to worry about it. But if they're going to be following in their own car then we need to charge them the $5...
Hi everyone!
I haven't attended a DC event for quite some time (being from the Philly area), but I will be down there this weekend, so I will most likely swing by for this.
I doubt anyone will remember me, but I was in the 4th of July parade last year (maybe the year before
) with you guys. Indi Blue S with chrome wheels...
Anyway, I've never been to a drive-in so this should be neat.
Did I just say "Neat"? Someone smack me.

Normally, I'd be all about this, but I plan on leaving early to run through the route a couple of times, and to see if I can find anyone from the movie theatre to try and work the price down a bit.
The movies are listed in the first post. We will probably be going to Screen 1.

They're coming! But they are bringing their own car (the aforementioned BMW). Paul, you can add "Alan & Kattiya" to your RSVP list. I'm pretty sure they'll be Screen 1 people like me.
Edge,
Done!
All,
I've been keeping an eye on the weather situation, and I'm simply not convinced that the weather will be bad enough to cancel this event. However, keep watching this space. If it is canceled last minute, there will be a post by 3 PM. After that, it's definitely on!
-Paul!
PS - The route sheet is posted in the top post of this thread in Microsoft Word format. I will also have plenty to pass out at the Apple House.
