[Sunday, October 26 @ 10:00am - ?] OTTO-berfest Run

Thought I'd dedicate this run to my MINI, Otto Moe Beall since we just had our 1 year anniversary.

Still haven't put the final touches on the run so details are a little sketchy.(Edit: finalized the route today)

The run distance will be 80-90 miles.(Edit: actually, 105 Wegman's to Wegman's, according to the GPS. I added a couple more twisty sections and rerouted to include a rest stop and a neat photo op)

Time is approximately 3-3 1/2 hours.(Edit: 3:04 by myself and 1 rest stop, so figure on 3 1/2)

Run will leave from Wegman's grocery megacomplex in Hunt Valley, MD.at 10:00. We'll meet upstairs in the dining area.

We will travel through northern Baltimore County and some of Carroll County.

The route concludes back in Hunt Valley.

Considering eating at Au Potin Stil. Open to other suggestions.

Sounds exciting! Thanks for putting something together. The foliage should be really beautiful at that time of the month.

Here is a link to RSVP:

[I will be attending this event]

Rats!!! Carol and I will be at the Witches Parade in St Michael's that weekend. We have missed almost everything this summer due to schedule conflicts. Maybe now that our schedule is slowing down, we will be able to get to an event or two.

I'll see some of you at VIR in Nov.

Dave and I are going to be in Waxahachie, TX that weekend, so we'll miss this one, too. We'll be sure to think of you guys while we're driving our rental car.

Went out today and checked out the final route changes.

Seems the county road crews have been pretty busy laying new asphalt.
Don't worry, if you like old asphalt, there's still plenty out there.

Also noticed a few trees are starting to change. Should be pretty colorful by the time of the run.

The Still met with general approval the last time we went there so it gets +1 from me ! There's some vegetarian items on the menu for those that like that kind of stuff.

@MiniPol: Love the "Ms. Brahms" quotation in your sig-block!!

@All: Sorry for the off-topic.

So, what road is this Wegman's on. Sounds like this could be a fun run, if y'all don't mind a noob taggin' 'long! I'm in VA, so I'm not very familiar with this "Hunt Valley" area of MD.

The Wegman's in question is on Shawan Road

which is an exit off of Interstate 83N

which is off 695

which is off 95N from Arlington.

If you look at the front of the store, you will see a sign which reads "Market Cafe". Go in the doors nearest to that sign. Once inside, turn to your right and walk to the steps.Take the stairs to the second floor. We usually sit at the tables nearest the stairs. Look for MINI/ DCMM logos on the people around that area.

WARNING: Failure to strictly adhere to the in-store directions may leave you lost for days (it's HUGE!).But at least you won't go hungry.

Byl,

Sorry, forgot to answer the second part of your post.

Of course noobs are always welcome!

You may want to fork out the dough for a DCMM membership before the run though. If not, we have to shake you down for the 5 clams.

BTW: Congrats on the Clubman!

Excellent, mon ami!!

(OMG, I just got your car's name: Otto Moe Beall! Too funny!)

I'll try not to get lost in the store. Is there an internet kiosk in the store, so I can post a plea for help if I do?

What's the 5 clams for? I'm going to work on the membership application this week. I'll have to see if I can acquire some clams, otherwise. Strange, I always thought MD was more of a "crabs" state

BTW: Congrats on the Clubman!
Merci buckets!!!

Okey dokey, it looks like we're going to Au Potin Stil.

Could everyone that's planning on going please go to the RSVP link in Play Play's first post and register? Also, please post the number in your sub-party if you're bringing co-motorists.I'll need to give the Stil an accurate count for a reservation.

Sounds like fun! Hopefully if my course load isn't too heavy, I can make it out with my new co-navigator so she can see what the fuss is all about!

Can someone provide a more exact address of the Wegman's in Hunt Valley?
