Yikes! What is it?

So I came out this morning to find this under the driver's side front of my MINI! Calling MoS now and praying I can get an appointment. Anyone have any idea? I'm thinking possibly oil (just had it in for service less than a month ago), but I checked the oil level and it is at max...

looks like oil or transmission fluid. Check all the fluid levels.

That's an awful lot of fluid for a engine mount. At least if you're referring to the passenger side one that's oil filled. Not to mention it's also on the wrong side of the car.

Whatever it is I would suggest you don't drive or even start up the car. Pop the hood and see if you can trace back the leak.

So I hadn't received a call back from Yolanda by noon (called her at 7am), so I called her again and got her out of office message :( I decided to just drive up there (benefits of being 4 miles away) though I've never done anything like that before. I know they are very busy, but I am going on vacation next week and will be driving my MINI several hundred miles... I was just really worried.

Everyone really took good care of me, even though I was a drop-in. Michael ended up coming out to help me, since no one could seem to find what caused the leak, or even what it was (no trace of it on the MINI). Good thing I had a picture - I don't think anyone would have believed me otherwise!

Turns out they think I have a cracked windshield washer fluid container. I'm not so sure on that (the fluid was dark and viscous), but they think the leak could have washed down some engine dirt? Michael said it was nothing much to worry about now, and that I should call him when I get back from vacation and he'll see that it gets fixed.

When I get home, I'll take a look at the spot again. I suppose if it is just windshield washer fluid, it will be mostly evaporated...

Maybe it was already there when you parked? Mabe it's not from your car?

One thing's for sure, they're blowing smoke at you if they seriously think that's w/s washer fluid...........
