CD Player won't accept CDs?

Has anyone had this happen to them? The CD player (factory, not aftermarket) is refusing to load CDs. It has been a little strange for a while, but now I can't get it to load a CD at all.

Here's what happens: when I attempt to load a CD (push it in slightly), the radio will flip to CD mode, but it will not load the CD. A few seconds later it "ejects" the CD (bumps it out by just a few inches since it never loaded in the first place).

At first I thought maybe the CD player was overheating (it has been quite hot the last few days), but I just tried again first thing this morning when everything was nice and cool, and no luck.

I've also tried to insert the CD fully manually - slide it in the whole way -, but it ejects the CD as well.

I've tried with both my mp3 CDs (which is has played without a problem in the past) and regular music CDs, and even CDs that it has played before without a problem.

Anyone run in to this? I believe my warranty is up within the next 30 days, so I'm thinking I may need to take it to MoS quickly!

Ok, stupid question time: is there perhaps a CD already in the slot?

Nope, no CD. I know you just ran that check since I'm blonde. I appreciate it though (Classic first rule in tech support: Is your computer plugged in? lol)

Okay, I guess it is another service call to MoS. They must dread this end-of-warranty laundry list of issues!

We had ours replaced a year or so ago. Same symptoms. The car was still in warranty then, thankfully.
