So far, I'm very happy with Annapolis MINI!

I posted this in my delivery week thread, but thought it might interest the locals here:

Ok, this is Strange.
(but the kind of Strange that I like!)

Yesterday, June 18, the Owner's Lounge update said my estimated delivery date was this Saturday, June 21st.
This morning, I checked it again and it now says my estimated delivery date was YESTERDAY, JUNE 18TH???!!!

NOW, THEY ARE LATE! And I won't stand for tardiness!
Should I demand more freebies????

Summary:
Ordered: Monday, May 26th
Build Start: Tuesday, May 27th (BIG KUDOS TO ANNAPOLIS MINI!!!)
Completed: Tuesday, June 3rd
At NYVDC: Saturday, June 14th
Actual Expected Delivery: Saturday, June 21st.

I am very happy with this process!!!!!!!

Congratulations! What a terrific surprise, and maybe your new MINI will be ready in time for our little run and gathering this Saturday: Meet & Greet and McLean Mansions Twisties Tour

We look forward to meeting you and your new MINI!

After 4 years and 23 days...

...it's time to trade my MINI in! I had been having a few different intermittent issues with the car, and there were a few different options I wish I had picked or wished were available originally, and it was going to be much easier for me to just trade it in towards a new one instead of trying to fix some intermittent issues that were driving me nuts.

It was a little sad taking Chance to MoA yesterday and handing over the title, even if she had been driving me nuts recently. But today was all excitement as I signed the paperwork to hand over the car and finalize the order, even if I'm going to be driving the ol' 14-year-old family Saturn in the meantime... at least it'll help me appreciate the new one when it comes in!

I was originally going to go with MY/BL, but I figured after having a LY/BL that I might have been trying too hard to have it look like my first MINI, and I'd just keep comparing it to that first one even though they all have their own personalities. Now it's going to be a LB/BL Cooper S -- haven't thought up a name yet, but if it's going to be a "blue"smobile then I might call it "Our Lady Of Blessed Acceleration", or just OLOBA for short!

I'm going to feel weird when I see a LY/BL Cooper S driving around now, though... I won't be able to stop wondering if that might have been my previous car! I can't be the only one who would act that way after trading their car in!

But so far I've been happy with MoA -- I thought that my ordering process 4 years ago with Tate was simple enough (I had remarked that if they weren't so expensive, I wouldn't mind buying a car every day, hah), this was very easy and streamlined. Of course, it helped that I just brought in the spec sheet of what I wanted, but I was given a very fair trade-in price (I may have underestimated my car's value beforehand, but honestly they offered more than I was expecting! ...ssh!), it appears that they've slid me into one of the dealer allocation slots for my order and that production should start very soon.

So, so far, Mini of Annapolis gets a big thumbs-up from me!

I really like OLOBA as a name for your new MINI.

A discount on a new MINI right now is very good. I had to pay the full boat for mine. (did get free mats!)

Did Tate service your old MINI? How were they with that? I understand that they have a new Service Mgr now, so I am hopeful with my car.

One other question....Why did you already give them your car before your new MINI was delivered? Was the trade offer that good?

I had Tate service the car about 1/3 of the time, and the rest of the time was pretty much at Towson since their service dept seemed to be much more together.

I was offered almost exactly 50% of what I paid for the car new 4 years / 84,500 miles (and wear and tear) ago, which was about $1500 more than I expected to get for it, warts and all. I didn't want to risk something happening to the car in the meantime, and since we have a spare car I'm able to use, I figured I might as well trade it in now. That, and I'd have to re-register the car since the registration expires at the end of the month, haha...
