Hi - I posted this over in the wheels/tires forum but no replies/opinions/thoughts. Heck, not even a rude comment.

We're always a more active board anyway and if there's a solution for these wheels/tires, it'll hopefully be local. So, if you can help... here it is:


Hey there, looking for some advice and opinions.

I tore up one of my OEM Pirelli tires yesterday (split the sidewall) so I now have 4 S-Lite wheels and 3 remaining run-flat tires.

I've already ordered new, lighter wheels/non-run-flat tires from Edge Racing which should be here Wed/Thu.

So, what would you recommend I do with the other ones? I don't live in an area where I need a set of winter tires. If it ever snows or gets to be a winter mess, I just drive my SUV (which I rarely drive anymore).

The S-Lites have a decent amount of curb rash and the tires have 17k on them. Some good tread left, but nothing anyone would drool over.

Any thoughts? Is there a market for obviously used and unevenly matched wheels & tires?

You can put it in the market place and try sell it as is.

I don't think you will get a lot out of it but you'll be able to sell it, at the right price.

I saw price ranged from $450 - $600 for decent sets. Your might have to be cheaper.

 

Anyone know how many miles you can get out of stock run-flats?

 

I got about 200 out of them before I screamed and removed them! Sorry, couldn't help it.

 

If the 3 others are worn...

toss the tires..

sell the rims...

 

well, I wish I had room in my garage. I wouldn't mind having 1-3 full size spares. As it is, I can probably only take one off your hands and you probably don't want to part out.
