good list, but no surfing

 

i would love to learn how to surf but not sure how the surfing is in the chesapeake bay

i'd like to do white water rafting, canoeing, or tubing in that order of preference....July 6th is good for me

 

If you can figure out how to surf in the DC/metro area and are willing to coordinate it, I'll gladly add it to the list!

That's Paul's bday and he's not much of a water sport guy, so I guess we're out.

Since nobody responded, the event has been postponed.

 

The RSVP says its tubing. Have we decided on tubing?

 

As far as I know, 'WE' haven't decided on anything yet. My guess is that we can do whatever we choose. I'd prefer to kayak or canoe. How about the rest of you?

 

I'm not sure if I can make it on July 6. I'm supposed to be in PA that weekend, and trying to go there and come back in one day is going to be tough . How about next Sat. (June 21)? Oops, that's the Meet at Sterling.

I am leaning towards white water rafting or canoeing ILO tubing....

 

Kayak for me, I'll have to see if Leona is interested, she'd probably be a tuber. Right now the date seems fine but.......never know with work.

I stopped by there yesterday (River Riders) to get an idea of what they offer, and WOW! This is a huge operation! A visit to their website will give you an idea, but they've got more water toys than K Mart! And several dozen busses to handle the drop-off and pick-up. Parking lot looks like it can handle well over a hundred cars, and the folks were super nice to talk with.

TWO clean, clear fresh water rivers (Shenandoah and Potomac), flat water and rapids, tubes, rafts, canoes and inflatable kayaks. Spectacular scenery. Only 90 minutes from Annapolis. Reservations are encouraged, and should be handled on an individual basis when we get closer to the event.
