Due to overwhelming silence I'm going out this afternoon instead and will just watch the race later this eve...

Maybe we can try again with more lead time...

Hammie and Rosberg have each been given a 10 spot grid penalty for France...

Oh, and the race was at least in 16:9 widescreen! Big improvement even if not HiDef. The next three will be too I hope. (while on Fox)

No. I assume in the excitement to get out they just didn't realize Kimi and the other car were stopped waiting for the green pit exit light. The crews really should have warned Hammi and Rosberg though.

I was surprised not to here Peter Hamilton, oops Windsor, not say how brilliant Hammi was when faced with hitting one of two cars to hit Kimi, thus assuring Kimi at least would also score no points.

Well, don't worry..it's not like you had to turn away hoardes.
Hope you're feeling better.

I wonder if Hammie Sr. smacked junior on the back of the head when the helmet came off...I would have. Boneheaded move is right...geez.

Well, I root for Kimi and Felipe, Rubens, Webber... Actually Hammie and Fernando are the only two I dislike. I'm not a fan of Ron Dennis either. I like Heikki but can't quite root for him over my other favorites 'cause of my distaste for McLaren. I guess that'll wear off soon enough. I got to be fans of just about all of the drivers to varying degrees after watching the interviews they did with the entire field at Indy. It was the only place they did that and I got a better idea what they were like.

Hammie Sr will have to take it easier on Hammie Jr since Hammie Sr borrowed and wrecked a £330,000 Merc from Jr a few weeks ago.

Actually, I said that Alonso would finally breakthrough. Ooops.

I believe you're the one that said Kubica would have a great weekend so good call on your part, Mike.

Now, excuse me while I jump up and down, shout and scream. I've been waiting for this victory for a while.

Polska! Polska!

Question for everyone, though.

On that incident in the pits....Kubica and Kimi were neck in neck when they came to a stop. If Hamilton didn't hit Kimi, who would've been in first?

I was assuming Kubica since he was in the lane and I thought Kimi would have to yield to him but with the way Kimi raced him to the stop...that got me wondering.

Any thoughts?

Glenn, opps you're right you did say Alonso, no biggie, glad to see the pole win ! Yes !

As for Hamilton, hey, **** happens, there are dozens of times that the Schu screwed up, especially his very unsportsman like first corner moves where he'd take himself and others out. How about taking drivers out to win championships ? Think he qualifies for that too

What Lewis brings is youth and excitement, he really gets wound up when he does good, his celebrations are quite fun. Many seem to want him to be more "modest" but that would ruin it. Let him be young, he will mature soon enough.

Yes, Lewis has made some very costly mistakes. I was completely deflated, he had the race in hand but then you learn by your mistakes In my job, you have high pressure too and mistakes can/will cost you your career, so I know what it feels like, just on a smaller scale. When you're flying your company's entire assets around in front of hundreds, you just can't make a mistake, if you do, hope that it isn't seen !

Keep your chin up Lewie, you've got support on this side of the pond !

Major brain f..t for Lewis. However, he is still the man no question. Kubica

drove a great race and really did deserve the win. Nothing better than a

three way race for top dog spot.

I agree it was great to see Kubica win his first race. He is an up and coming star in this series. As far as Lewis goes, he is definitely a hell of a driver, but still makes them rookie mistakes! He has had his share of brain F--Ts for sure. We have had some pretty good races this year and I look forward to more

The past two years beats the last four years of Schu and Ferrari, I stopped watching when the red car got too tiring to watch. Alonso was a breath of fresh air, just like Lewis and Robert.

It will be an exciting finish this year ! I'm hoping they go into the last race all tied up and Lewis prevails and thus sets the record straight.

If Alonso ends up in a red car for 2009, it will be awesome to see !

I was just thinking, remember when Schu ran into the back of Montoya at Monoco as they went into the tunnel on the formation lap ? That was a real doozy for the seven time champ too......

Edit: Oops, different year. Tit for tat? What year was above from?

Edt #2 Turns out thats the year in the pic above that Juan hit Michael in the right rear and spun Michaels left front into the barrier.

Aah, ya got that backwards. Montoya ran into Schumi in dat tunnel... from behind, and he was a lap down to Schumi at the time. Under caution. And ran into darn near eveyone else too in his F1 career. The end finally came when started hitting his team mate. That's why he finally moved to NASCAR if you ask me. He needed a car with fenders. Very fast guy but didn't know the difference between 12 inches and 0 inches...

If Alonso ends up in a Ferrari I'll lose my lunch! I really don't expect it. He's whined too much everywhere he's gone. Even his 2nd championship year at Renault he was complaining that Renault weren't supporting him. Much, maybe most, of the time he does say the right thing, I could easily become a fan if he'd grow up a bit.

Ah, that's right, Schu nailed the brakes as he entered the tunnel behind the SC. I thought it had been the other way around. Montoya was a lap down ? I thought that was the race he won ?

Thought I would post this in the DCMM thread

"I kept pushing. There's nothing you can do that can distract me. You can keep on giving me penalties and whatever you want to do and I'll keep battling and try and come back with a result. I did everything I needed to do, I stayed out of trouble and drove what I thought was a fair race"

Lewis "Churchill" Hamilton

The race for the lead was quite dull but there was some great racing going on behind that
