Looks like Lewis is living up to his words ! The past two races have been a wonderful demonstration of what Lewis can do ! and he's got pole for tomorrow !

Here's hoping for victory #5 !

If one of the other drivers doesn't start winning in place of Lewis I may have to start watching NASCAR! hahahahaha

No offense, just keeping it balanced!

Don't you mean CRASHCAR ?

Its too bad Schumacher hasn't tried his sausage in NASCAR.....can you imagine ? but then, he sure doesn't need the money, should have bought super best friends and made them world champs

Hahah. yeah. I was a huge Michael fan, but even I was getting bored with the way he walked away with nearly all wins for a while... I was glad he won, but would have preffered it be hard fought.

I don't follow NASCAR, but I did hear about their debacle at Indy a week or so ago... I don't know which was worse, their's or F1's.

Edit: I AM looking forward to next year's F1 regs, much much less aero and more mechanical grip (slicks). Hopefully more overtaking in the front part of the race.

Love the new badges, Mike! Hamilton appears to be an unstoppable force right now.

I figured BMW & Kubica were too good to be true. But it was fun while it lasted.

As I said on the F-1 thread WHAT A GREAT SEASON ! this one's going to the end !

Of course my hopes are on Hamilton but it will be tight ! Heikki held on and kept pushing rather than playing safe - Thats the spirit !

Needless to say....there was a roar of excitement at my house when the old F2008 went up and smoke. A good indication that Ferrari took the gamble and allowed additional engine strain in order to a) get the lead and b) to maintain that lead. I'm still guessing that Lewis was just trying to maintain the gap in order to preserve his tires for hot laps once Massa pitted, more than likely he would have taken the lead and walked away. However, it was a great race, hats off to Heikki for keeping the pressure on, hats off to Ron for allowing him to do so, its almost like they knew they (Ferrari) were pushing the motor harder than normal.

This has to be the best season in 15 years !

Hahahaha. Now you're just dreaming!

Wake up man, it's Monday, time to go to work!

Funny how we each see the race we want to see... The way I saw it Hammie almost lost it big time on about turn 3 lap 1 tyring to recover, front end washed out bad on cold tires on him... I feel he tends to compound mistakes by following up with another, though more so last year. And I think the tire going down was due to abuse...

But what fun would it be if everyone rooted for the same guy?

I see your side but c'mon, you saw Massa after the quali interview, he knew the Mc had it, I think that's why they pushed the car. The fact that Lewis maintained the gap tells you that he was at least as fast. They all have the ability to go to "war emergency power" if they need it. I'll bet Kimi's pace at the end was the "war emergency power" being turned on knowing they could best Glock and get the podium, not the option tires, and that's why he slowed after Felipe's car uncorked its oilpan - to reduce the chance of a similar failure.

To me the tire looked like a sidewall failure though that may have been from the fact it lost air. It seemed that he wasn't abusing it that much. That was just the comment from Varsha. Haven't looked to see what Lewis' comments were after the race.

The great thing is we had a different podium (Kimi looked bored again) with new faces.

The competition is wonderful !

It seemed like in all in all they had pretty similar race pace in the end. Other than Kimi's continuing qualifying problems. He better fix that soon if he has any hopes. It's looking like IF a Ferrari were to the Drivers champ this year it'll more likely be Massa than Kimi, which I would not have expected.

It is good to see more of the 'mid pack' doing well. I'd like to see Webber do well, he seems pretty level headed most of the time, and gives great interviews, more info...

Bridgestone said it looked like a puncture, but that he had flat spotted it several times and that that make a puncture more likely. They also said they'll take it back and dissect it, but since he had to do almost a full lap on it flat, it may be difficult to tell what happened.

Dang, I'd hate to see Rubens with no ride at all. Worst thing he ever did was leave Ferrari 'cause he didn't like being #2. The consensus is that Alonso is looking for a one year deal again hoping to go to Ferrari, he's assuming as are most that Kimi will only finish (finnish finish? ) his current contract and retire.

Domo-whatever at Ferrair said several months ago that they would not want Alonso, even at some future date. Citing his behavior to date. Even his last year at Renault when he won the champ, he was complaining that Renault was undercutting him. If Alonso could just learn to hold his tongue a bit, he could have his choicee, other than McLaren again.

I've read and heard some comments that the next couple circuits would be mid to low downforce. That and looking at the map of the track it looks to me like there are at least 3 corners that'd lend themselves to overtaking. But whadda I know!

Perhaps Rubes is staying and Jens is going back to Renault ? Sort-a-like the Alonso/Heikki deal ? Might be Button's best chance for a championship

I imagine it will depend on their performance over the rest of the year. I did see a rumor that'd be Rubens to go. But he of course has a history with Ross Braun so maybe that'll help?

Commence the 'silly season'.

Rubes makes a great #2 because he is able to help develop the car, exactly what Schumacher needed during his reign. He knows he's getting old, the championship further and further away, why not stay on, keep your job and help Alonso/Braun/Honda come back with a miracle recovery ? and you never know, Alonso may help the car development and Rubes turns out to get the upperhand on him in the early part of the season - maybe a championship isn't that far out ?

I wondered about whether Rubens was a good development guy. Never heard it discussed. He was fun to watch on the podium when he won. Truly a ear to ear grin.

Saw a article today that suggested that Ron Dennis wants to leave after this year, but wants a title first, and is putting more effort into the 2008 car at the expense of the 2009 program. Everyone from Ron on down says this is rubbish. Probably just speculation by the press.

But everytiime last year I heard a story that sounded fabricated it turned out weeks later to be true, or even more so than the stories!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ron get out, the guy has been through the ringer with the spy thing and the loss of his marriage. Perhaps its time to sit back and enjoy the roses and all that cash !
