[Saturday, July 26] Guinness World Record
While we didn't break the record (or even come close) it was still a fun day. I won a $50 gift certificate to Aesthetic Creations and I never win anything, so that was exciting.

Ed you are so right it was gawd #@*& hot!!! That being said I think that
everyone had a really good time, I know that I did. Even though the car
count was not what it was last year everyone involved in this event should
get a thumbs up for just plain doing it. I can't imagine the hours involved.
I do think that the only place/event that can now break last year's record
would be MOTD/09. Let's try!! And lastly to the man and the woman in
the golf cart who gave me the cold brown bottles, thanks!!!

There was a small wave of MINIs that came in near the start. We talked to Randy's (kilt guy) wife about the event and she said they had around 155 cars.
Even though we didn't come close, we STILL hold the world's record from last year at 273. The event in the Netherlands this past May, claiming a record of 886 MINIs, hasn't been sanctioned by Guinness as yet.
When/If it does get sanctioned, it will be very hard to break with all the logistics involved.
BUT, we may still claim the North American Record!!
[And the RoadKill Roundup was a HOOT!!]

I'm too lazy to post my pics on NAM, so here's a link to my flickr page with photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trout/tags/gwr500/
Sorry to hear that the record remains the same, but looks like an excellent time
was had by all.
I've been reading that all the events within the event were a blast.
I missed a good one
and missed meeting many of you
that I see post here alot. I'm hoping there are plans for next year!
No
weiner whistle for me I guess. No show no blow.
BUMMER!!!

I was so sad that my sidekick and motoring companion Jenny would not be able to join me on this MOTORGYRLZ adventure, that I almost bailed on the trip! THANKFULLY her best friend (and now an Honorary Twisty Sista) Kathleen accompanied me to the run. WE HAD A BLAST and I can not wait until next year!!!
