Great news!

You can put all that practice at the Dragon to use on real road conditions.

Did the pre-run today.

If tomorrow's weather is anything like today's, it will be an incredible run.

Wasn't sure how bad holiday traffic would be. No different from any other day I worked on the route. I think since most of the route is so far off major thoroughfares, most people wouldn't drive on the roads anyway.

Remember, we will meet upstairs at Wegman's tomorrow.

If you have a radio, bring it. Wouldn't hurt to bring extra batteries if ya got 'em.

If you have a drop top or sunroof, hats, sunscreen and shades are definitely recommended.

You may want to get to Wegman's early to grab some breakfast. We will hit a couple of convenience stores for pit stops so you can grab snacks on the run.

Chris, don't forget bags for the "twistometer".

See y'all tomorrow.

Congratulations to Bill for another fantastic run. He was able to turn a 30 mile trip to get ice cream into a 168 mile road rally through every twistie in Northern Baltimore County, Harford County, Cecil County, and parts of PA. The participants will forever refer to this run not as the We All Scream for Ice Cream Run but the Iron Butt Ice Cream Run. Great roads, great scenery, great ice cream, great group. Thanks to Rab for an excellent job sweeping. See you all at the picnic.

+1! We had an amazing time! I really loved all of the little back roads, and it seemed as if traffic was working in our favor today. Again, we had an awesome time!!

I wasn't keeping track , but BRGMC said we actually covered 181 miles because of the dam detour caused by the dam traffic from the dam accident.

You know you're on backroads when Memorial Day traffic consists of tractors and Amish buggies.

Thanks to everyone that came out for the run.
I know a lot of you will have done over 300 miles by the time you returned to your homes. I appreciate you spending a long day chasing after me.

Thank you Rab for doing a great job sweeeping.

BTW; I give a thumbs up to the rice pudding ice cream.

It is really nice to meet you all, eventhough I didn't have a chance to join to run.

It was great to witness the line of beautiful MINIs motoring.

I was planning but something came up at the last minute.

I wish I could join this awesome, during a re-run may by? I will ask MrMellowYellow to join since he's missed most of Bill run.

See you all next week at the picnic.

Bill, ice cream never tasted so good!!!!!!!! For me, that was a thoroughly

good time and all I could think of was where did he find all these roads?

And I also know now what it feels like to do a double stint at Le Mans!

Thanks for putting this on

Chris ,

Thanks for coming out to visit.

Sorry you missed it. The twistometers would've been really busy.

This morning, I started thinking of a few changes I could do for We All Scream 2.0.

I could eliminate a few of the longer, less twisty sections, making the route a little shorter (and quicker to the first pit stop ).

There were a couple of other roads I could switch out just because I had to choose between a couple of different routes so it'll be a little different for "Iron Butt" veterans if they want to try it again.

We missed a few nice roads because of our detour and hopefully next time we'll be able to drive 'em.

Wow. Bill really deserves a round of applause on this one! Our small, focused group kept quite a brisk pace. And the weather was incredible.

I mapped the run if anyone is interested; at least I had no idea where I was (geographically) most of the time. This includes the dam detour, which even managed to add a few more twisties and great scenery. For the really adventurous, you can download the route as a GPX file at the link below, import into Google Earth, and "fly" through the run.

Cheers.

Sorry I missed this, but duty called via DCMM board meeting. Perhaps if you run the 2.0, I might be able to join you as I am an ice cream fanatic.

Bummer, hate to have missed this... as Katie said, we had a DCMM board meeting yesterday, so none of us were able to attend.

I hope there's a repeat in the future, as I'd love to do this run!
