AMVIV VI, Anyone?

I couldn't make it this year, but I'm planning on driving (yes - driving) out next year. Anyone care to join me?

It's a little early for me to think about this seriously, but the pictures of AMVIV that I saw on Flickr really made me want to go someday....

That's what got me going.

I haven't driven quite that far, but the trip I made to Woody Creek, CO when I was in college took about 2 days. I figure 3-4 days to get to Vegas, maybe a few more with some side trips to visit friends.

We are HIGHLY considering it. Having been to MOTD a bunch of times now, and considering that Jay is unable to attend MOTD any more, we want to try to get out there.
I don't know if we will drive out or not. I don't want to do it in a marathon. I want to take my time, and I am not sure he can get 2 weeks off... But we are still looking into it.

We have friends/family in California and I've always thought it would be fun to drive across the country. I'd be much more likely to do it if there was a fun event, like AMVIV on the way (ok, practically there...) Like Stacey, I wouldn't want to rush and unless I'd be willing to drive a big portion by myself, I'm not sure how it would work with Dave's job. So, after all that, I would definitely considering driving out for it next year.

Hey we are considering this event as well! But not in the same year! We want to go to all of the 4 major...eventually. Of course it has been easiest to go to the one that is only 9 hours away, instead of 9 days! But don't count us DCMMers out!

Don't feel bad, Nurse. You're not alone. Our goal is to get to the Dragon...in 2009, but it's 2 weeks vacation and a hell of alot of driving.

Your West Coast counterparts have the same delimas you do ~ how do we do it all?

Having been to AMVIV(s) and MITM(s), I highly recommend both!!

MOTD 2009 or BUST!

doooo iiiitttttt

We did from Chicago last year and are doing it again this year. We will be heading west on 80 starting bright and surly on Tues. the 24th. We will (hopefully) not be stopping to sleep until Golden Colorado. We will be shooting for Vegas by sundown on Weds. the 25th.

At this point, my plan is to leave DC on the 21st and try to make St. Louis that evening. I'll be visiting friends along the way in KC and Denver, pulling into Vegas either the 24th or 25th.

Oh God you're driving through Kansas? (sorry to any Kansans offended by that)

Check the St. Louis mini groups to see if anyone is going. Or at least let me know you energy drink of choice so I can buy stock. I70 is more mind numbing than I80 in Nebraska and you can see Denver from the Nebraska/Iowa border on 80.

I'm only half joking about driving across that state.

Yeah, I have an old friend from HS who lives in the middle of nowhere in KS, and she's driving a few hours to meet up with me in Salinas. That, and I'm visiting an old college friend in KC, so driving across KS is unavoidable. Could be worse though - I could be driving across the panhandle of TX.

I have been thinking for the past couple of years of going. AMVIVI just looks so cool. I tried to get some of the Pittstop members to join in, but no dice this year. I've done MOTD the past couple of years and would love to drive to Vegas next year. Coming from the Akron, OH area, I might meet you in St. Louis. Please keep me updated with your plans. Thanks.
