seems fairly hypocritical if you ask me, especially if there wasn't a formal vote on the rule and the artwork change at a board meeting. if a board member decides to change things *****-nilly, without the consensus of their peers, what's the point of prohibiting members?

This is the DCMM official logo. We are in the process of getting it trademarked/copyrighted, whatever...
The previous problem (which will become a problem after the logo is trademarked) would be for ANYONE (including a board memeber) to use this logo to make a profit off of it.

This is not to say that we can't have other designs. What we have been trying to communicate, which apparently has not been understood, is the design on the hats is NOT the logo. It is an adaptation of the logo, but not the logo.

This is the last I am going to say on it. We will continue to produce swag for the club, as people, including myself, wants to have it. The before mentioned issue is being taken care of. Any further swag will be CLEARLY COMMUNICATED with our members. I apologize that we, as a board, neglected to communicate with you all.

Seems like the issue has gotten blown out of proportion. A change was deemed necessary. A member expressed displeasure at the change. Not big issues. Member should get money back. In the future, change should be posted. No need for bad feelings. I didn't order a hat. But, if I did and it was different than what I ordered and I didn't like it, I'd feel entitled to a refund. But, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the efforts of all those involved in getting the hats produced.

<sigh> Gentlemen, can you not read? Here is what I posted:

The board DID discuss and agree to the change. There was NO case of one member changing things *****-nilly.

I can't be any more clear than that. The mistake is the entire boards, for the lack of communication... NOT for making the change.

Please stop throwing out snippy comments about certain board members, they are unfounded. Nobody on the board is being a cowboy/renegade.

At no time was the intent of ANY board member (or the board as a whole) to trick, fool or otherwise mess with any of the members and their swag. We were faced with a design change that was strongly recommended to improve the look of the hat. We discussed and accepted the change. We just fell down about communication with the members on that before actual production started. Period. Lesson learned.

Nobody should feel "tricked". It was an innocent mistake, and we regret that mistake. (The mistake being the lack of communication... not the change itself)

It always pays to catch up on a thread before contributing to it... I mean, you read Peter's posts, right?

I got defensive because I saw board members being attacked unfairly. I'd have done the same for you Dan, if you were attacked unfairly. It's how I am.

so, now you want to over-analyze my reading methods? Ok...let's do it. I clicked this thread this morning, scrolled up and saw Donna's post, thinking it was her first one from last night (she did the same blue green thing), not realizing she posted a second time. I read down from there....your's was just above. Forgive me for missing one post in this thread...I promise to drink my coffee before posting instead of during. mea maxima culpa

Ahh I see...

One question - you are aware of the "Go to first new post" button, right?

It's the one that looks like this:

It appears next to every thread that has changed since your last visit. It will jump you straight to the first post you haven't read... so you can't miss anything.
