[Sun, June 1st @ 10:00am] DCMM Summer Kickoff Run & Picnic
I have been considering getting a Kyosho Mini-Z. this may be the final kick. but is that gonna do well outside? seems more like an indoor car. I have an X-Modz, but its a piece. its also broken, because its a piece. piece meaning piece of crap.
hmm...I'd like to come and bring Chloe, but it may be hard keeping an 84lbs Weimaraner in the car with the top down ...(seeing as how she can rip the dog harness right off of the seat)

I may bring an RC car, not sure yet, right now, mine's kinda in need of work... it's rather old
Also, since it looks like we're gonna have a fairly good RC event here, we might want to start discussing frequencies. For those of us that have changeable frequencies, we may need to pick up a few extra radio crystals. Mine's Channel 82 (75.830MHz)

This is a really cool idea.
I will try to get some small cones, but how many do we need?

Very true!!
I need to take her out and spoil her more since we only have maybe a year left with her (found out a few months ago shes in the advanced stages of Cushings disease) She'd have a ball!
And you all will get to laugh at me since she towers over me in the car (shes maybe a good foot taller when in the front seat)
My husband had a whole system worked out for carrying our German Shepherd in his cabrio. He got a webbing strap, like you use for backpacking, and threaded it through one of the child-seat hardpoints. Then he clipped a carabiner to the strap. The whole arrangement was about 18-20 inches long. So when the dog got in the back seat, he just clipped this to her collar, and she could sit or stand, but not really move around. He'd go down the highway with the top down and the dog in the back seat all the time.

she definitely ruined my seat belt when i had the miata. We got to the park...she saw a kid throwing a ball and poof!-- ripped the harness right out of the seat belt and jumped clear over the side of the car and took off down the field. Thank goodness i never drove anyone else around in that car- they wouldn't have had a seat belt to use
Woo...hoo....

Other than hang out with our MINI lovers friends, there are also fun activities at the park. Two of them are Pontoons boat tours and Rowboats rental.
Pontoon Boat Tours
Join us for a naturalist-led group and/or public nature programs on the pontoon boat Kingfisher (max. cap. 30 persons). The ADA-accessible Kingfisher can accommodate up to 8 people in wheelchairs. A 60-75 minute tour on the Kingfisher is a great way for individuals, families and small groups to experience the beautiful, 505-acre Little Seneca Lake. Pontoon boat tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays between Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Tours leave promptly at 12:30pm, 2:00pm and 3:30pm from the Boat Rental location. Tickets are $4.00 each, and are sold on a walk-up, first-come, first-served basis each day for trips that same day. Children under 5 must wear a Personal Flotation Device. Groups interested in touring the lake should contact the park naturalist for reservation and fee information. Please call 301-916-0220 for information and reservations.
Boat Rentals
Rowboats and canoes are available for rental on a seasonal basis, weather permitting. A driver's license is required as a security deposit for each boat. At least one person in each boat must be 16 years of age or older. Swimming and wading from the boats or the lake shoreline is strictly prohibited. Anglers are permitted to use their own electric trolling motors on rental boats. Prices, hours of operation and additional information are available by calling the Boat Rental Facility or the Park Manager's Office (wheelchair-accessible). Ya know, all the pictures shown so far are from Winter when all the trees were still naked. Can some updated pictures be posted? I'm sure the area looks really nice with everything in full bloom. (and less depressing)
This looks to be a great event!
