Never realized...
Never realized...
Never realized exactly how much I REALLY loved motoring in me MCS (Ms. Brahms) until I had to drive my wife's Nissan Quest yesterday to run an errand..... there are no words that can describe how I felt.....
It's addictive, isn't it?!
Within days of getting our MINI we realized that just one won't do so we started to plan on getting another. In fact, there are a lot of families with multiple MINIs out there.

Just as they are saying in the other post "you are spoiled". It kinda reminds me of the ads for the Miata when it was new, they talked about being "one with your horse". A MINI is a lot like a Miata with a roof.
i drive a miniVan at work all the time. its the most uncomfortable out of body ride there is. you feel like you're sitting in a milk crate seat on top of a wobbly skateboard.

amen to that. ive only had my mini for 2 weeks but when i went back to driving the Sentra on saturday to go to the auto show (im not parking my mini at any metro station if i can avoid it, let alone suitland), the first thing i said was, "where's the clutch?" after that, i asked, "how come i can jerk the steering wheel all around and the car barely turns?"
i didnt realize how good my mini really is until then. i knew it was awesome, but that just makes me appreciate it more.

Our other vehicle is a Toyota Sienna. Frankly, I'm impressed with how little body roll there is considering it's a minivan. But, the fun quotient is in the negative triple-digits IMO.
Try swapping back and forth between a S Cabrio and a E150 Conversion Van. In fact, I took the van down the DRAGON. Talk about a different driving style.
It's nice though. Driving the truck a day per week roughly keeps me feeling like the MINI is small quick and nimble. Instead of gradually taking it for granted as one gets used to it.

I often find myself driving way too fast in the Ford
I've had multiple SUVs (and some ordinary cars) try to match my speed through some corners including some guy in one of those huge "HEMI" pickups with all the noise and stickers, kinda funny watching them push to the outside of the corner right on the edge of tipping over
Apex....what apex ?
It amazes me that:
A) They're dumb enough to try and hang with a car that is lower and lighter
B) Dumb enough to drive an SUV around a corner fast to start with
c) Try to match my speed rather than drive their own "race"
I think these "un-educated" owners think that because they might have 300+ horsepower and those huge rims, they should easily out perform that "little car" with the wind up motor.......
And Wensley's "Just an S" with all season run flats......the JCWs and GPs must be mind blowing.......with a good driver
Cheers,
Mike

The important limiting factor in the van on the Dragon wasn't as much the handling as the brakes. I mean I knew how slow to corner! I was able to leave the auto in 2nd and with engine breaking I could 'squirt' from corner to corner on the level and climbing parts. I needed a slower pace on the descents. I didn't let them fade but could feel / smell the onset and slowed accordingly.
I took my folks down the Dragon in the Van on the way back from Atlanta. My Dad said he wished he could drive it in his SAAB 9000 CES. Another sweet car...

That is the first I saw the snowplow mod on a MINI.
It must have a very high head turning quotient.
