[Sun, Mar 16th @ 10.15am] St Paddy's Day "Parade" Run
When we are out exploring, no matter what the season, she always says "Gee, this scenery would be really pretty in the (insert a different season, fall, winter, summer, spring.)" She's always working for the next trip.
It was SOOO good I missed that! You know, with Cecilia being lowered, she tends to bottom out on LOTS of things! I was bouncing all over that one road right after DQ and I did bottom out (I always do no matter how slow) on the speed bumps at B&N! So Glad TO MISS the DIRT ROAD!!!!

LOL... the dirt road actually wasn't too bumpy... just dirty and then there was some huge gravel. Lucky for us, that road was only about 1/10 of a mile so we didn't have to go far to realize WRONG WAY !!
And to all those wishing to make that run in the Spring/Summer... yeah, the area up around where we live is GORGEOUS when everything turns green.
So far Bev and I have to make-up Bill's Cabin Fever run from January and now we have to add this one to our list.
It's going to be a busy summer.
Glenn
Unfortunately I was close enough to actually hear the insults and accusatory name-calling, and I even could read one guy's lips and see the wild-pig anger in his eyes and facial expressions! Trust me, it wasn't pretty, and I was somewhat concerned for my (our) safety. I've been around enough folks who were unbalanced and angry enough to have bypassed the normal safety valves that most of us have, and these guys were very near that point

Out on the open road and by ourselves, any of us could likely pull over or outdrive somebody like that if necessary; I know I have done that once or twice over the years. But stuck in a line of 20 cars at an intersection, well, it's a different story.
I don't know what we could have done differently, but maybe we could plan to drive in A$$*** and Inbred free zones next time
Being the lead vehicle, I missed the insanely pissed-off truck driver. Wow... anyone remember about where this happened ?
And I'm not sure if it's any safer to drive in more populated areas. The road ragers are just as common, or more so, in the towns and cities. And they're just as likely to be packing... just a matter of 9mm versus shotgun.

There were actually TWO of them

O and one of them was on that dirt/gravel road when the front half turned around and went down that road. those three kids were on the corner. dont remember where the other one was but im sure Ed has vivid memories. btw, remember that maroon/burgundy Camry (i think) that let the last 5-10 of us through one of those stop signs so we could stay together. my passenger and i gave him/her a big thumbs up. we need more people like that.
also, the goody bags were given out at the beginning in the barnes and noble parking lot. i think you went inside to the bathroom or something. we must have finished before you got back.

Drivers. Two different trucks. One with a passenger, and the other solo. One was on the gravel road where we made the U turn. The other was on a paved road somewhere, I don't remember exactly where. Maybe going into Ellicott City? No wait, I think I remember. Maybe it was where we turned left onto 26 to get to the Dairy Queen. Yummm... Dairy Queen
Actually, I don't get really scared until I hear somebody chamber a round or hear the theme song from 'Deliverance' playing on some inbred's stereo
Anyway, it was a TERRIFIC run, with lots of wonderful roads and great scenery. The goody bags at the drivers' meeting were awesome, and I really appreciate the effort that you and Roxanne put into making the event a success.

Yeah, that area is a bit remote so there may be some folks of questionable breeding around there.
Funny how you can drive around the back country roads and see a house that is falling apart and probably doesn't have indoor plumbing and then a mile later you see a $1.5M home.
And the spot where we turned to go to DQ... I hope there's no inbreeds there since it's only about a 3-iron to my home !!
glad to hear y'all had fun on the run, the pictures have been GREAT... me and Haemish slept in so we missed hiking up Old Rag... we decided to hike it next Saturday...
so instead of hiking we decided to go on the dry run for the Spring Fling... I must say, this Texan was very impressed with the route, even though I had to keep an eye on the mileage so he could update the directions (since at the end it was 2 miles off!) The tavern was even a very nice place to eat... we caught it for dinner though... lol we left at 4:55 and got back at midnight... it's long and well worth it

Thanks for your help, Peter, in passing on the info from last year's run and with the new maps !!
