I know of a lot of good shops up in this area, Kurt. Down there where you are... hmmmm.... is PIE's in your part of the State ? I hear a lot of good things about that place from our policyholders and claimants.

When I get to the office tomorrow, I'll run some checks on some shops down around there and I'll let you know which other one's I've heard good things about.

OMG, sorry to see all the damage, but glad that you're OK. On the other hand, you should be glad that you look so young to the cop......

I hope all turns out well.

I do have my blessings to count - I wasn't injured, my passenger is safe and fortunately the damage looks repairable. I'll be back on the road soon shiny side up! :-)

On another note, something was very weird in the stars, my day started off very strange - Cooper the Dog who is normally very good outside and listens very well - got a crazy hair and took off running towards 8th St. NE towards a man on the other side of the street. My shouting did not make him stop and he ran out into the street and was struck by a passing car. Good news is he bounced off, rolled away from the car and ran back towards me. Dog and owner are fine.

It's times like this when you realize how impressive the MINI community is - thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.

OMG. Glad you are okay. Sorry about your R56

The good thing is that you guys are okay. I hope that Ferrari driver gets caught for leaving the scene.

Body shops? WagonWorks is the best near to you. If you use MoS - the shop they work through nearby is very good (don't remember the name however) as they did some work on Starbuck when she was rear-ended by a MiniVan .

It's nice to know that our cars are very sturdy and well designed.

Royal Auto Body.

Had repair work on SFAX done there last year, back when I was still a NOVA resident. Very satisfied with the work. Ended up having them add the full Aero Kit after getting cajoled into it by WagnBat. Been sucked into the mod vortex ever since.

Oh No! That would have been enough trauma for me for one day. I would have sat home oon the couch.......with the dog in my lap....all day.

Well on a good note.. things are progressing quickly today, I'm in my Chevrolet Colbalt that I got from Enterprise in the Convention Center. The stereo is actually better than the HiFi in my MCS. But that's about the only thing it's got going for it besides four wheels, a drivetrain and an engine.

I stopped by MoS and ordered my JCW kit to be installed after the bodywork is completed and all if any mechanical issues are fixed.

One more picture of the rear damage for the CARnagely Fascinated...

Are you going to keep the undamaged parts leftover from the JCW conversion?

Hey Krut...Sooo sorry to hear about your two babies. Glad that you and Cooper the dog are OK and your passenger. And hopefully soon so will your R56.

It is nice to know that the MINI will hold up that well in a side collision. Anymore info about the Ferrari jackass?!? Hope everything works out for you. And I hope to see you at Katie's house for the party!!

Update today.. car should be at (cr)Ashburn Collision - they've got a good reputation and I'm hoping there's not a lot of damage underneath the bonnet (i.e, suspension components, engine brackets and mounts).

Krut--

I just read this. Sux man. I'm glad you are ok. I know it only been a couple days but has there been any progress in locating the driver of the other car?

Turned all info over to the insurance company. I'll let them battle it out. At this point, just want to be "whole" again and get back on the road shiny side up. :-)

I can tell you that the Krut's insurance company has a valid address for the other driver. He hasn't returned phone calls, letter was sent to him advising if he doesn't provide insurance info, they will go after him directly for reimbursement for the PD claim.

BTW State Farm has been stellar to deal with and it's good to know that I have a good MINI Neighbor that can look out for me. :-)

OK Poor R56 and CTD.... but you didnt like that colour anyhow... maybe time to replace it when you get it back for a different colour. I tell you Route 28 is not a good road for MINI's... my MINI reduction happened on route 28 about 1/4 mile north of yours....

************************************************** *******
Warning to all MINI Drivers!!!!

Stay off Route 28 in VA
************************************************** *******

One thing that I noticed after my fixup at (CR) Ashburn Collision Centre was that my wheel alignment was out so much that my Crap Avons are worn almost out on all 4 inside edges.

Don't get me wrong they did a good job, but check to make sure your wheel alignment is ok, so that you don't have the same probs as I did with my Avons

Feel like beer and/or meat pie tonight???

Hooroo mate
