I'd love to go, possibly with 2 others. Just need to get confirmation from them...so I can't quite RSVP yet. I just hope the spaces aren't all taken up by then.

Now I just need to find some snow pants/gear.

tubing and twisties

I'm writing from our hotel room at WISP where my son and I have enjoyed two great days of skiing.

We're up for some tubing next weekend. Put me down for two (me and my 9 year old boy).

See you all at starbucks

Looks like I'll be in, with 1, possibly 2 passengers. I should know for sure tomorrow.

I mentioned it before, however I am not sure if it was caught, I will have a passenger, so two people total in my car, we will both be tubing, and we will both be having lunch!

Let me ask, Should I pick up a pair of ski pants? I have never done any type of fun snow-related stuff before.... please don't laugh at me

-Chase

I think it's a good idea. You'll have to be the judge of what price range to buy since they can range from $50 for el cheapo to $200 for pro. If you doubt you'll be doing a lot of snow sport, something closer to el cheapo might get you by.

But, Jeans will get wet and cold and heavy, especially if the temp is above freezing.

A slightly cheaper "mod" might be to just pick up a pair of cheap "rain-suit" pants and wear those over the lower coverings of choice....

They won't do much to keep ya warm, but they *should* help keep ya dry for a fair amount less $$$$$.

You can probably even find a pair for sub $20 if you look around...think ponchos and the like!

Good idea to take along a change of clothes, shoes and especially socks

Great idea.

Could someone come up with " the Survival Guide to Snow tubing and twisties run".

By the way, Ski Chalet has their winter gears on Sale. Their insulated pants (water resistant) are on sale for less than $30. I'm going to pick a pair up tomorrow.

I think the ideas that MrFalcon, hypnohealer, and I mentioned are good. and, here are some of the things I do when skiing:

1. I like to have a pair of "wick" socks under my normal socks to help keep my feet dry. Since we won't be wearing ski boots, whatever socks you want to wear is ok, just make sure they're warm. As for footwear, boots are preferable, but anything water resistant and decent snow/ice grip is choice.

2. For those of you that wear glasses or plan to wear sunglasses, get a "Croakie" (strap), it's easy to loose eyewear in a spill.

3. Several layers will be warmer than one thick layer, I think most of us know this already seeing as we live in the mid-atlantic where it does get pretty cold in Winter.

4. The change of clothes is certainly a great idea.

5. For tubing, especially if you don't plan to do a lot of snowsport, don't feel like you have to bust the budget on 'top of the line' winter wear.

6. The bottom line really is to stay warm & dry.
