MOT report

I picked Wensleydale up last night from MOT after getting her flywheel replaced. Unfortunately, her Bonnet was scratched in several spots and I must admit I was quite upset . They must pull the bonnet off to do the work ? Or the Mech was just not very careful. This was quite a let down

They did a quick buff job on the areas and it appears they have been removed, though I will only be happy after I've looked her over in the sunlight.

The noise was the flywheel and the replacement fixed it . The other items I asked to be looked at were not fixed (brake squeal and rattling speaker grill)

I guess I need to be more up front about how particular I am about my paint, I just think it sucks that they are not more careful, especially when my car comes in looking show room fresh. I might be more understanding if she looked as if she hadn't been washed for two years and the owner didn't give a damn.

Sooooo, both Tate and MOT have scratched my car (Tate's was worse requiring paint)

Without a doubt, MOT service staff are quite nice and helpful.

I'm sorry to hear about Wensleydale got scratch. Hope it can be buff off.

By the way, did they wash the MINI. I found a hard way that, one time during the service, they washed Maxi (they normally clean customer car after finish the job) by brought her to the car wash machine.
The machine spun off the front license plate holder, scratched bumper and bended the license plate.

They knew the incident, appologized and fixed the problem.

After that, I make sure everytime that I tell and confirm them not to wash Maxi.

By the way, for MINI using "no hold plate holder", never use machine car wash. (I know majority of us don't use it anyway, but just in case)

it pays to have a GP ... they MUST wash her by hand and TATE always does... (a couple of times I got the other MINIs washed by hand as well !!!)

Sorry to hear that MOT was not carefull with Wensleydale and they left a couple noises. If this had happened at TATE people would start a long tirade against TATE but it was MoT so... I guess it's more acceptable ..

I just wish wish that SANTA brings good techs in both places!!!

Yes, I requested "No Washy" and they did not - it looked like either they set or leaned the bonnet against something, or possibly the mech had some very gritty hands. They did buff them but I'm not sure if they are removed or just filled. I need sun and a hose to find out

Here's some shots of what I had after MOT buffed it, I knew I would find more in the sunshine I spent all day Monday working them out using scratchX, Amigo and Epic. My muscles tell me I need a PC The whole bonnet was covered with stuff like this including some scratches of my own. The work I did helped but she'll need the PC and some Prima Swirl come spring or warmer weather.

I'm disappointed with the lack of carefulness but I am pleased with the flywheel work so far, no new noise or vibrations, good clean work under the bonnet. In addition as mentioned, they are quite nice and treated me well. I guess I need to communicate that I'm neurotic about my paint

Its all good,

Mike
