Fun Day!

Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting this together.
My wife showed up for the afternoon round and managed to snap a few pics.

Sucks we didn't get a chance to take more. If anyone catches the group pic(s) they took of the Mini's pass them over.

Chris, Paul says it was his pleasure..he had fun, too. Btw, he's the first in his SCCA class at the moment.

Now you guys know why I'm a race widow during the season..

Glad you all had fun!

I had so much fun with him in the car, also watching him attacked the slalom is a blast.

He will probably see me more often at the driving school.

Whoever took the video of me driving my MINI (2nd group, CR/W S) - my camera also records sound. It caught a very interesting conversation that I'm going to have to remove before I can share the clip with other people.

Bug-Guards and group photos.

The day sure looked like it would have been fun on track, but I was the one taking all of the photos for Mini of Towson, (can't get away from work!!I'm a full time photographer for the Baltimore Sun). In return for all of the pic's, Brad and Mark let me display my "Bug-Guards" which I now have a limited number of. They fit the 2002-2006 Mini Cooper and Cooper S, manual transmissioned cars. After the drivers saw how they fit and work I gave out a lot of business cards! You can call me at 410-608-4972 if you want one. They will be up on my newly re-worked website in about 10 days and I'll make a vendor announcement.

Now after the shameless plug, back to the photos. I took abou 450 photos of the event including the group photo which MOT plans to make into a display poster for the shop. I know Brad plans on emailing everyone a shot of them at the event. As far as the group shot goes, I worked on it last night and I'll talk to Brad about what he wants to do. I made a 11.5 X 16 photo last night to see how it looks, and maybe he and I can work something out so all can get one for a nominal fee. I'll have to check.

Thanks to the boys at MOT for what they have done for me and all of the Mini owners. The dealer seems to be top notch. Even the owner, Lou came out to take a look!

What an awesome time! It's really amazing what these cars can do, even if they are just stock, whether base model or S, or slightly modified or heavily tweaked.

The coolest part was working near the timer while the first group was running. I could tell that with each run, the collective set of times got lower, and lower, and lower! And you could see everyone's confidence go up.

I can't believe we each got 8 runs in and still finished before 2:30p.

Thanks to MoT for setting this up and extending the invitation to all of us. Very much appreciated.

John

Thanks to everyone for making the event so great! Also thanks to everybody that let my fiance go for a ride. She had such a big smile on her face the rest of the day. Hopefully we will be able to come out to more DCMM and autocross events.

Must save money for the wedding...can't mod my car...must resist...

Thanks for covering the events. I'm sure you will have quite a few good images. Can't wait to see some pictures of Maxi in action. (When I hit the cones, or ran off-course )

Btw, the group pictures would be nice as well.

Was it scandalous?

I wanted to make the event, however I have a brand new clutch in my car and it's nowhere near properly broken in. So I wasn't about to take it to an autocross event. Not to mention with the new clutch I'm still in the process of re-learning the engagement point.

The event would have been the perfect place to see how the car handled now as I also got a Quaife put in at the same time. So with the final installs my project has come to an end. At some point I may actually write up an all-encompassing review/story.

Umm, it was scandalous enough that I don't want other people to hear it while they are watching the footage - and no, it wasn't about my driving

What an excuse. The whole course was 2nd gear.

Yes but (hard ) take offs and some of the low speed turns would be very hard on his clutch with Quaife installed, but still he could have come out and borrowed my car or atleast joke about Cone Magnet running the course.

Actually, We used the 1st gear as well, only from starting point, then shifted, right before the first turn and after that it's all 2nd gear.

With your monster torquey machine, you shouldn't have any problem.

Making it Big

Glad you like the photo.
How do you make it bigger and not as a small attachment?
I know I can make files big but I want them to appear bigger when
the thread is open.
Thanks
Mona

Yes, I totally agree...you kicked a$$! I was in awe of your driving, handling and cosmic purpleness . You should join us for DCMM events.

Thanks again for the pictures.

That was from my last run of the day. ccc777 was with me and I was able to make 2 second faster than the previous run, even with her extra weight.

With her in the car, the only thing I heard was her voice.
