well, that was fun..when it finally started.

I gotta figure out how to keep kids from taking my blinkies...almost happened a couple of times. One kid offered to trade one of those yellow frisbees someone had tossed to the crowd. No way, kid!

I saw a lot of people taking pix of us, and the crowd seemed to get fired up when we went by...perhaps it was all the horn honking and fancy drivin'.

I was scared Jay was gonna blow up his car.....heavy revving, dude!

and...we seemed to have dodged the weather bullet. Thanks for the color radar, Mark and the updates, Peter.

Thanks to all who came, and donated food, time, and effort.

Next year MORE MINIS!!

There were 2 ladies having lunch outside during the parade and yelled "Stop the honking!" I yelled back, "It's a parade! and reved SF!

I was reving SF because of the motorcycle up front.

I had some people ask me to rev SF, and scared some kids and dogs

Just getting home, the after-party at Marina's was very nice, very relaxed. Had a great time all day, LONG day! But all in all, can't go wrong when your surrounded by a dozen MINIs

We wish we would be able to join everyone all the way.

We really have a great time at Capital Hill.

Thank you so much Marina. Our kids love this.
Also, thanks to Peter for letting my son be your co-pilot.

Everyone loves your Purple Wino.

Great pics Chris! Glad to see everyone who came out. Yes, there needed to be MORE MINIs!!! Next year. I am very happy that the Annapolis parade was so much longer this year! And what a turn out! I had so many people coming up and telling me how much they like my car! So cute.

THE PURPLE ONE NEEDS TO STAY IN THE DC AREA SO PEOPLE CAN KEEP SAYING OOOOOH LOOK AT THE PURPLE ONE

I am really glad the weather held out. And glad that Haemish came along as my co-pilot/decoration destroyer if it started to pour!

I passed out almost as soon as we got home (sacrifice of working nights, I couldn't sleep the night before the parades) but I did last night! I just woke up! Nothing like 11 hrs of sleep!

And Katie, I looked up that house..NO WAY can I afford it 1.3!!!!

Didn't wake Miguel who was asleep in the back seat as soon as the parade got under way. The wife and I had to smell the exhaust - thank you very much!

By the way - thanks to you - now i have to spend $800 to get a new exhaust LOL

I figured it was well over a mill. and I bet the taxes are prohibitive too.
Ah well...start playing the lottery!

did you guys see any tornado damage in your area? they showed a pic of a funnel cloud someone took, on the 11 o'clock news last night...scary. It was located in Columbia..

Surprisingly none! Well at least not here. There was an alert on the way up 270 stating high water on the highway, but we went over the local lanes, and it wasn't that much. I was really expecting bad dammage. Very happy to not have it!

Glad we weren't on the Mall last night either. Heard that it was completely evacuated! then EVERYONE came back at once. :impatient Yikes!

I had a blast too, although I was a bit disappointed at how small the DC parade was... I guess I thought it was the "big" DC parade, not just Capitol Hill...

The Annapolis parade more than made up for it though - much better!

Actually it's Haemish... or should I call you Mariner?

No big deal Marina - it was a combination of things:
  1. 2pm or so and no food all day yet
  2. Being a passenger instead of driving
  3. Having no vents turned on towards me (wish I'd noticed that sooner!), not to mention air conditioned and not fresh air
I'm sure if even one of those conditions had been different, I would have done much better on the twisty run!

your 15 minutes of fame

How were the fireworks? I "saw" them from my deck...well, the light reflected in the clouds and rain.
I'm sorry that folks missed the parade, for whatever the reason..
Glad there was no damage in Columbia.

From the roof they looked great, nice and clear, they got up just above the roof line, with the ocasional ones that went another 50ft up.
