I ordered 12 Aug, Still have no build date.. (I was told that it would be built in Sep but the Sports Package is the hold up on mine)

 

Ordered: July 5th
Tentative delivery: October 25th

There was already a JCW in front of me, so I've had to wait. My MA tells me that the week following my order, the JCW wait jumped 5 deep. Needless to say, some of those guys will be waiting 5+ months.

It really hasn't felt that long. That was until my Acura sold (this week). Now the madness is really setting in... I can't wait to hit the local canyons and catch the end of the leaves changing while motoring the hell out of my JCW.

 

i placed my down payment/order at MINI of hawaii on 10/01/08. the order was not accepted by the system until three weeks later 10/28/08. my MA said it was because of the sport package. it wasn't until last week, 11/30/08, that my car moved from "on order" to "scheduled for production." it's now awaiting transport and should take about 60 days to arrive. i'm trying to be patient. honolulu, after all, is on the other side of the globe from the UK.

anyone else have delays bcs they got the sport package? or wait for a month to go from order to production?

i feel like i've been waiting for this car forever. part of it is bcs i've wanted one ever since i first laid eyes on it five years ago. last year, i was ready to pull the trigger on an 08 MCS but had to hold off. the moment i was writing the deposit check in october felt surreal, and i almost feel as if i'm only dreaming i will soon be driving my own MINI...err, as soon as i get it and as soon as my sweetie teaches me to drive stick.

i wish i could make the next sixty days go faster, if only in terms of getting my MCS. the rest of my life can stay the pace it is...

 

Our MCS only took about 40 days from order to delivery (picked it up on Oct 29). Nice!

 

Mine took 7 weeks, my partners took 5 weeks.
Mine was ordered October 5 Picked up at the dealer November 22.

Why is this taking so long? When i ordered my Mini it was built, shipped and delivered in 5 weeks flat. Does teh configuration affect delivery time or are minis just selling that well

I started this thread while I was waiting....pulling my hair out...I waited about 8 weeks for our factory JCW. I like to see that people are gettingtheir cars but WOW, some are really waiting a long time.

 

It took seven weeks.

 

Because some of us live on the West side of the country, and that adds 3-4 weeks to the shipping part of the process and, some of us, like me, ordered cars right at the model year break--and summer factory vacations in Aug--so that causes delays. Normally my dealer's order-to-delivery window is about 8-10 weeks.

Four years ago it was 8-10 months, so 108 days (for me) while annoying was nothing, really.

 

7 weeks and some change.

I ordered my last MINI and waited for 2 months for it. This time I didn't want to go through that so I bought one off the Lot. It has things I wouldn't have ordered but I love it just the same (maybe more)

 

Ordered mine on November 1, and picked it up here in Toronto on December 9! Pretty quick....

 

I ordered my 2009 on September 15 and it arrived november 8th...but let me tell you it is well worth the wait!!!
