My MINI got keyed...

Hi motorers,

First, let me explain the situation... I am 26yo and from Quebec. I moved to Florida last June to return to school and get a Bachelor degree. I used to work for my dad's business since I graduated from high school. When he sold his business, I decided to go back to school.

I live at my parents' mobile home, which is located in a 55+ mobile home parc. There is a crazy old b#%ch who hates French Canadiens (we are at least 75% French Canadiens in this place). 2 months ago, someone (that women if you ask me) put stickers on my car and my brother's car because we use a public parking lot next to our house. The sticker stated something like "Stupidy is an handicap, park somewhere else". We use that parking ot because my parents use the driveway when they are here.

2 weeks ago, she talked to me and told me that the parking lot was for visitors and that I did not have the right to use it. There is no one using it except from my brother, myself, and one of our neighbourg. I did not argue with her and walked away.

Last night, I parked my car and went home. This afternoon, my brother called me and told me both of our cars got keyed.

I filed a police report and called m insurance company. I will have to pay the first $500.

I told the officer, a cool officer btw lol, that I suspect that women to have done this, and he will talk with her, but I am not expecting to get anthing from that... :impatient

Here are some pics of the damage:

Is that parking lot close to the trailer? I'd mount a camera on the trailer and hook it up to a DVD recorder. Try to catch the cranky b!-atch doing it and prosecute the hell out of her. Just mount the camera at night so she doesn't see you.

Something like this would do...
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0216297
add one of these and you're set..

Ouch!!! I'm SO sorry to read this.

I know how you must feel....My Cabrio was keyed also - when it was only 1 month old... Good thing for car insurance eh? Mine had to pay out close to $3K as the entire bonnet and drivers side front to back had to be repainted... I just DO NOT understand why people feel the need to do crap like this!!!!! Urrggggg.....

They will, but I have to pa the first $500... And I still have to get my oil leak issue fixed... So that's at least $700-800 out of my bank account... :impatient

The only good side of this is that my MINI was hit by a piece of wood on the highway 4 months ago and I will get the bonnet fixed at the same time...

I believe in the saying "what goes around comes around"... That women will get what she deserves one day... She ahs been fooling with so many poeple in the past. For example, a new house was getting installed next ot her place... One night, she flood the house from the roof. For no reason... She is just a crazy women... She never got married and lived with her 2 dogs. No kids, no husband, no one loves her lol

Hey,

Sorry to hear about this, this just shows the ignorance of somebody, If nobody uses the parking lot, hey, it's not like your going to be taking up some one else's space right? I don't understand why if the lady did it, why she had to go to such extreme measures, this could have simply been resolved by talking with you, but she chose to key you and your brother's cars. Sorry to see this happen to you and hopefully the insurance company will cover this.

Take Care,
Joseph

I was in FL for less than 2 months and got keyed

The door and sides you might be able to touch up and wet sand to a good finish on your own but hte curvy spots are gonna need some professionals to get back to good as new.

She put some effort into that keying....A-Panel, Door, Rear Quater-Panel, Bonnet, into your Bonnet-Stripes. Whoever did it had some serious time to kill with all of that. Usually you only see one key mark down the side since its much quicker then writing their name in it

Sorry to hear about your car. Some people are extremely mean-spirited and just be thankful that you're not in the same situation that's making them angry. I'm sure your car will be as good as new soon - just a shame you're out $500 bucks.

BTW - where are you at in Quebec? (Krut ='s French Canadian)

That is the ultimate disrespect that one can do to another when in a disagreement. Anyone that would result to that type of behavior is not stable.

That is terrible and obviously someone was making a point.

What is this woman's relationship to the parking lot? Does she own or manage it?

Dude.. that's a lot of scratches. I'd look out for her. She's definitely lost a few screws. I understand wanting to be the "neighborhood watch" person (not bad to have around actually). But her alleged behavior is inexcusable. If you can prove it was her, let the cops take care of her. Good luck with the repairs. Keep us posted.

I sold my Cooper (black side vents) to someone here...I'm guessing it's because they either didn't like the chrome or they were going for the stealth look.

It does suck that someone did that to the car...I'd be furious!

That just plain sucks.

I agree with the others that suggested trying to catch her in the act.

Checked out those links...pretty interesting stuff!

Do you use that camera system? I'm just curious about the "the 11 bright Infra Red LEDs that light up at night"...if a criminal sees the lights they'll probably NOT follow through with their plan, but that doesn't mean that they won't come back later and yank the camera down.

If they are IR like it says, then they should work exactly like the IR lights that go on camcorders like Sony with night vision so they are not visible. you cannot see IR with your eyes.

Try http://www.wilife.com/Products/Outdoor-Camera.aspx complete outdoor kit. USB interface
