MY BUILD UP, continued...

Ok so first off, I am finaly home from Iraq FOR GOOD!!!

I got back to CO. about 3 weeks ago, and havent had any space in the garage to do much, pluss it's been pretty cold to do a long job outside.
On top of that my computer picked up 4 virus'es the first time I turned it on, so it's toast!!! Right now I am using my PS3 to type posts so I can't do pictures, but I will post them whenever I can.

If you followed my last thread (2 weeks to work on the MINI) you have seen pretty much everything, except:
The AUTOPOWER roll bar is in (Actually done in October, the night before I went back to Kuwait, just didn't get pic's up.)
Water/Meth injection from ALCOHOL INJECTION SYSTEMS.COM is in (Having problems with poor quality check valve)
DETROIT TUNED bypass valve is installed
MACH V intercooler temp gauge is in
EGT gauge is finaly hooked up (Is 1600 degrees on the highway normal?)
Lug bolts have been converted to stud and nut
and I changed out the coolent tank with a FORGE tank

I am still waiting for my AST coilovers, last I heard they where in Holland waiting for a mass shipment. And I need those before I start on all the suspension work. The body and paint work is going to need to wait untill spring when it warms up, and for now the car needs tuned in the worst way but I need to get this checkvalve for the W/M replaced first.

Well that should bring everyone up to speed on the project, I will update this with pic's whenever I can.

Thanks for serving your country for us.

Throw all that stuff out in the yard and get back to work modding your mini already

Yanking the $6000 worth of sound system out of my old HONDA and everything else I could possibly sell off of that car now so I can junk it and have some space.

Your welcome for my service, the way I see it though is somebody had to do it and it's what I enjoy doing, so it might as well be me.

Glad to hear it! Thanks so much for your service. Us mere civilians really do appreciate it

So you went with AST? I know a few months ago you were looking at the WMW/TSW KW V3. What made you change your mind?

Well I was going to get the KW's but lack of avalibility on KW's part made it impossible. At the same time I never thought I would be remotely able to get AST's on my buget but, I cought one heck of a deal, and decided to go that route. (I cant say exactly how much I payed, as a request from my supplyer so please dont ask.)

Now the problem is that AST only wants to do mass shipments so they can save a little cash, which is understandable for any buisness to do. So I am stuck still waiting for the coilovers that where supposed to be here by Thanksgiving. If it was actually warm enough for me to work on the car I might be a little upset, but since I cant really tear the entire suspension off when its this cold it really isnt bothering me.

Welcome back and thanks
Off topic but the BEST anti virus program is AVAST. It is free and I have had it beat out the commercal products hands down. I have had it warn me about bad web pages and stuff that was buried in zip files.

Good luck with your mini and I understand that you may need some snow tires (CO right?)

I have 33" super swamper TSL's on car #2.

A good set of all seasons is in the works for the wheels off of my HONDA, that will be my street tires.

Get rid of the check valve on the meth kit and replace it with a qaulity solenoid instead

Thanks D-man I plan on it as soon as possible. I need to replace the O-ring in the check valve every 2 days the way it is.

It turned into this. Pay no attention to the heatsoak, it was taken after the test drive.

The slight hole that was left from the battery box was just a little too small for what was coming next. I filled the space between the 2 floor plates (stacked on top of eachother) with expanding foam.

All of that to fit this. No complaints about the system other than that POS checkvalve!
