Superspeed Wheels

Hello all,

I am a new member and owner of a 2020 Countryman JCW. Because the wife does not like the color of the OEM wheels (JCW Grip Spoke Silver), she has tasked me to find her aftermarket wheels in a darker color to match the car (Thunder Grey). A brand that keeps popping up in my social circle says Superspeed wheels. Since I am not too familiar with wheel and offsets, will 18x8.5 +35 or 18x8.5 +45 fit? My only concern is the huge brake caliper up front.

I have attached pictures of both wheels for reference. Any help is appreciated.

18x8.5 +45

18x8.5 +35

Both those wheels look good though I am unfamiliar with the brand. I wouldn't worry too much about your JCW's calipers clearing with an 18" wheel (isn't 19" the standard fitment?), but would check with the retailer that you can return them if a test fit (w/o first mounting the tires!) shows that they don't fit. For reference, I have a Audi TTRS and certain 18" wheels fit over its calipers, but barely, and those are 14.4" rotors. If you're in the USA, you can try tirerack.com and use their search tools to find wheels that fit. If you're in Canada, you can use 1010tires.com. They have various calculators there, too. (see next paragraph).

Speaking of which, our cars use a high numeric offset of ~ ET51. There seems to be a fair amount of room for a slightly lower offset, but a +35 is probably too much and would likely result in some rubbing on the fender lips when your suspension fully compresses over bumps. My go-to place for checking proper wheel fitment is wheel-size.com. It will give you all the important info (rim width, bolt circle, centre bore, offset, etc.). They also have a tire/wheel size calculator so you can get a visual feel for what effect changing the offset and other dimensions will have relative to original fitment. https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/

Good luck!

Thanks for the detailed information and have confirmed with the retailer that it will fit!
