JCW 18's vs 19's

Wondering if anyone has had an opportunity to compare the two, in terms of noise, ride quality, etc.?

On the JCW CMs, does MINI source from a variety of tire brands? Mine came with Pirelli's.

Part of my reason for asking is that I'm considering seeing if I can find someone to trade my 19's for the standard factory 18's. I actually like those simpler wheels better.

Thanks in advance.

MINI puts a variety of tire brands on their vehicles. My 18" JCWs came with Goodyear EfficientGrip runflats. I haven't had the opportunity to drive a JCW on 19" wheels but based on my past experiences with 19"s and larger (on other cars) I'm going to stick with 18".

My JCW Paceman came with 19" cross spokes with Pirelli P zero run flats. The ride was much better than my JCW coupe with OEM 17" wheels and run flats though I chalk that up to the higher stock ride height and cushier suspension setup on the JCW Paceman. I honestly can't complain about the Paceman setup considering my past experience with run flats. All this being what it is I have sold my 19" wheels and tires and have a set of 18" wheels on the way with non RF rubber. I think 18" is the sweet spot for these larger MINIs and the wheel options are far greater.

+1 for 18s. I love the design of the optional R134 ( I think that's right) 19" wheels but I think the 18s fit the car better plus I'll be happier when it's time to buy tires. Slightly taller sidewall helps ride quality too.

Maybe,

We are actually just the opposite. We really like the 19's because they fill up the wheel well area, and give the CM an more "stout" look. I'm not actually crazy about the pattern of the 19" OEM wheels either(I hate anything black metal on a car).

These are our winter wheels that we put Nitto Motiva AS tires on.

In the spring we will be getting those fantastic looking nm engineering gunmetal 19" wheels and get some serious summer rubber on them(Michelin Pilot Super Sports).

sorry that we we obviously can't help you with a trade
