How long did your brakes last?

My indicator just came on to replace my front and rear brakes. I have a 2011 All4 with 19,000 miles. I've never had brakes wear out that fast before. Is that normal?

At least they're covered under maintenance. I have an appointment on July 11.

That is not unheard of but it is soon. I usually get 25-30k miles out of brakes (R56 and R55).

We had this on our Countryman - turned out to be a faulty brake sensor reading.. The sensor was reset and fronts went up to 30k rears 45k..

My All4 has 45K. I am scheduled to have the front brakes replaced next week. They tell me that the backs still have 10K on them.

When I was in for some work a couple of months ago, the SA warned me the brakes were wearing out, so it's probably the real thing. I'll find out next Thursday.

when i had my first "free" oil/filter change at ~8000 miles, the service ticket noted i would be needing front and rear brakes at the next scheduled oil/fiter change at ~16,000 miles ... at ~12,000 now and have major scoring on the inner and outer faces of the rear discs, but still have some pad left ... front discs look good

So I had brakes checked last week. And apparently, they're fine, but the sensors were out of whack. They were reading my 8mm front pads like they were 3mm. They just needed a software update to get recalibrated.

Looks like common problem.
I have 25K miles and computer keeps telling me that 1000 miles left for rear brakes for last 5000 miles..
Dealer says pads still in the good shape - need software update.

I also had the sensor update on my 11 All4. I have just changed the front rotors and pads, and the rear pads at 59k.

On my 2012 I got a brake warning at 21,000. Still plenty of brake left. They reset it and a month later I got the same warning. When I brought it in for a oil change they upgraded the software to a newer version. Sounds like a error in the software
