Michelin Primacy MXM4

Anyone use these on their MCS? Looking to replace the summer 18" tires with all season, and they are only $160 at Costco (plus $70 rebate). Was also looking at Pilot Sport AS and Continental DWS thru Tire Rack...

Just my opinion gowith the DWS. They are quiet and smooth, they handle well and are excellent in the snow.

We had DWS's are are R53 when we sold it. Granted that was a very different car versus the CM. Very good winter traction for an all season tire, and smooth riding. I always suspected that the smooth ride was because of the soft sidewalls, but the trade-off for that was a tire that was so-so handling at the limit. When you pushed the car really hard you could feel the sidewall flex, and it made for squiggly handling. I noticed the same thing one time when I had to make an emergency maneuver at highway speeds when someone abruptly cut into my lane. But the handling for every day driving was fine. Adding about 6 pounds of pressure would help significantly, but would not completely resolve the issue.

I ran 225/50 18 MXM4's on my Countryman All4 for 3,500 miles. I got incredible gas mileage on a trip from Salt Lake City to L.A., roughly 31.5 with my auto transmission. They handled well in severe rain and puddling. They were fairly quiet and handled fine but no wow factor.

Subsequently, I replaced these with Performance 225/50 18 Mich Super Sports after troubleshooting a vibration issue that plagued me for months. The vibration culprit was my rear differential which was replaced under warranty. I love the Super Sports and run blizzaks in the winter so didn't really need the all seasons MXM4s. Had I not had the vibration problem I would still be with the MXM4s.

Wound up going with these from Costco. Ordered them online and they arrived at the warehouse within 2 days. Went in to install them on 2/1 and was informed that Michelin had dropped the price by an additional $20/tire so I "returned" them and then they rung them up again at the warehouse for only $139 per tire! OTD price was about $570 including mounting and balancing! Cant beat that... Little more "squishy" but atleast I am not sliding all over the place this winter
