I just got from MINI of Pittsburgh: mark your calendars for September 8th!! It is going to awesome.
Plan on meeting at MINI of Pittsburgh around 4 PM and then we will leave for some spirited driving and a Surprise Ending.

I'm up for this. Let's introduce Country Roads MINI to Western PA.

Sorry I've been late on the reply here. Joyce and I just bought a new house in Fairmont so we've been crazy with all the details. I've missed being on here. Tonight I actually have some "free" time to write.

I am glad to see some things coming up in the near future. They all sound pretty cool. I am thinking we need to come up with another drive around the end of August. It can be to anywhere but would be nice to stay within WV b/c that's where our roots are. But we aren't limited to WV only. What about a trip to Snowshoe resort? Are there some events coming up there we could attend i.e. chili cookoff aka Fire on the Mountain etc? Cass Railroad maybe when it gets a chill in the air? Put your thinking caps on. John: you are our map guy, so wherever we choose, you get to map the directions. Um, no pressure.

I plan on working on some ideas this weekend. My back needs the rest from all the boxes and basement/attic cleanout! Thanks for being proactive on here. Some great ideas coming forth.

 

I'm definitely doing the Sept 8 trip up to PA to drive with the PittStop club. Also I (and John I think) are going to the mod meetup Aug 25.

 

Definitely planning on attending the Mod Party on August 25th. Merlin is getting a transfusion (read - oil change/filter) at the MINI dealership in Pittsburgh on Monday, and I may be able to get more information about the Sept. 8th mystery trip.

I know, I know...I've only got 2900 miles on the oil, but I want them to get the big bits out now before they do any damage!

 

US 250 from Fairmont to Moundsville will keep us on our toes. Once there, we can tour the State Penitentiary, the mound and museum. There's a ferry across the Ohio River nearby in Sistersville. In other words, lots of opportunities for a great drive with touring.

Mean't to start a new thread, oh well...

 

John: trip to Moundsville via Rt 250 might be pretty cool indeed. Got any dates in mind? Once into September, we might be moving so could get a bit crazy for Joyce and me. I like your idea though.
Put some date times out there for us and lets see what folks come back with.
