We cruised through the rain/ice with no issues.

Ok, one problem, got the car really dirty...which means garage wash with hot water...LOL!

Anybody get any cool MINI related stuff for Christmas? I got lots driving music and car care stuff.

Any of the mods I want would have been over budget. If only that TSW X-brace was cheaper...

This probably doesn't count, but I used a Mini Coffee Mug box to hide a necklace for my girlfriend. She really likes the car (and purple mood lighting), but she thought she was getting a coffee cup. She liked the necklace better.

I asked for a few MINI swag items, but alas received none. Oh well, I guess I have to buy them myself.
A month ago I took the MINI to the car wash and the drying guy was totally freaked out by the key fob. When I showed him that there was a little key hiding inside, he let out a curse word. Even MINI keys are powerful.

Has anyone ever done a seafoam treatment on their mini? Mine is idiling a bit strange and I think the carbon buildup is the cause.

Not I. But if your MINI is still under warranty, supposedly* dealerships have a similar product for cleansing.

If you enjoy doing work on your car you may find this thread interesting...

Scooter, I did a Seafoam treatment to my justa last summer. About 1/3 of a can thru the PCV and it blew a lot of white smoke for a few minutes after I stopped. I cant say whether it improved any performance because I did not have a miss before I started but I also dont think it did any damage. Like Rainman said if your still under warranty it may be better left to Mini to perform this task. A $6 can of Seafoam spray used less than 1/2 and 15 minutes out of my day, I am happy.

Anyone make it to the Midlands Autoshow last weekend? It was a good show. Lots of new generation vehicles. One can really see the design trends that this decade will become known for.

I didn't have the opportunity to go. I hope you're right on the design trends. The previous decade has seen way to many bland cars.

You're not making me look forward to coming home. We've been having to turn the AC on at night

Went into Omaha myself with WildThang on the new Blizzaks late this afternoon, which was by my standards the first hardcore test I've had with them. Awesome tires, and yeah they're runflats. DSC off and playin...

No problems on the highway home about 7PM in the midst of the snow and wind cruised at 60mph without a slip. Come to think of it no one passed me coming home...

Feb.10th My wife took the MINI to work as usual today. A semi backing into a freight dock around a corner hit our MINI. Damage from rear bumper to front windshield. Passenger door and mirror, damage to the rear is low around the bumper area and right on the corner above the bumper. The passenger door rattles, it drives ok, getting estimates for repair ASAP. The worst seems to be the passenger front roof pillar at the top of the roof. A hole there into the interior, window missing the corner now, moldings of course...looks bad.

I'll keep ya posted.

Wow. You may need to rename it to Lucky. Something's always happening to it. Seriously, sorry to hear that.

Ugh ... noticed bubbling paint on the rear hatch on the left side of the windshield wiper. It's already got a needle hole in it, pretty sure there's rust underneath. I'd expect this on the front of the car or somewhere it may catch a rock chip or something, but on the rear?!? I do have the OEM paint repair kit for rock chips so I will take a shot at it sometime, but this made me wonder, do these cars have rust warranty that goes beyond the typical bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty? I might have to consult the booklet, which I do not have with me.
And sorry, but me and my Subaru have been enjoying every minute and every inch of snow \0/

When I picked my Clubbie in September, they told the rust-through warranty was 12 years, and if I had it rustproofed, it woulkd void that warranty. And if you have bubbling paint, you definitely got rust!

That is an odd spot for rust. Me thinks I'll start washing my MINI more frequently in the winter....

And off-topic, with the weather going to be so good this weekend I'm really tempted to put the summer wheels on and go Motoring!

WildThang goes in for repairs on the 21st of Feb. They're saying 'a couple days since we're painting it'....uh huh...sure. They did say they will get all the parts in before the car arrives for repairs. Keeping our fingers crossed ...

Did you ever get an estimate on it? It sounded like some major repairs and did it also get into the roof? Good luck and hope the end result exceeds your expectations
