Hey, the NAM elves changed the name of the thread! Cool!

Nabeshin, sorry to hear about your change in plans. But now we'll all get to see you at CORN events for a while longer, eh?

BTW, I posted photos from my run up Mt. Evans (14K!) last Friday with the MINI 5280 club here. You guys need to do this sometime!

Rainman requested the thread name change.

I might be able to make more events, but the upcoming winery thing, probably not.

Autoworks in Lincoln, mechanic Jim, was able to fix my number 3 spark plug threads with a Time-sert from above. He replaced the Brisk plug with a NGK G-Power, and recommended leaving the rest alone for now, but that I could change them out for NGKs later. He said that the thread pitch on Brisks are made slightly off of what they should be and advises against them - this thread pitch discrepancy could have caused the blow it seems. I don't know, they lasted 20,000 miles just fine, I simply failed to check the torque regularly.

Tancred, glad you got Vera back, AND all under warranty! NICE! And thanks for adding the link to the Merry Mini event in AR. That looks like some FUN driving. Not sure if I'll make it down there or not, but definitely considering it. I'm just keeping a wary eye on the mileage on my MINI as it steadily climbs from daily driving. I'm approaching 7,000 and I just got the MINI on 1/22/10.

Nabeshin, sorry to hear you can't go to Japan yet, but glad that means you'll be around to motor with us! Good luck on the sparkplug blowout.

Last week a bad thunderstorm rolled over our fair town. Golf Ball to Baseball sized hail for over ten minutes. My wife was coming home in WildThang, and where we live there are no places to hide from hail. She was able to get the car into the garage within minutes, but we have over 20 dents on the bonnet and one major hit on the roof. No glass cracks, and no other damage seen. Insurance will cover it.

Our house took a branch through the roof, which left a CD sized hole. What the hell...we were due for a new roof anyway. Also replacing the windows and door that were destroyed

I may price the carbon fiber scoop for a new bonnet. I hear the price difference after having a new scoop painted versus the carbon fiber scoop is not much. Thinkin about it...

Terrific video, Kernel! Hope everyone has an equally traffic-free run up there in August -- without the LEO, of course.

That's just the road to Winter Park from I-70; there are many more fantastically twisty roads in the area. Let's motor!!

Ditto from me also, great video. For anyone that is going have a great trip this year. I'm heading to Sturgis this time on the bike during that same time period (got to get there at least once in my life time before I get too old to handle the ride).

Wow. Nice job. The majority of it is valid for the R56. I need to print that and highlight "Door Closing" for my passengers!

Take a look at this thread:

I took a few shots out of a bus window of the rural area near Grand Island.

We got WildThang estimated for the hail damage and she goes in mid August for repairs. Far less cost than what we had anticipated. They'll do the PDR method on it, which is Paintless Dent Removal.

What a relief...

Nabeshin, neat photogs man!

I miss my mini!!

I havn't driven my mini in over a week. It's at home lonely in the garage. I and my family have been in Hilton Head South Carolina. basking in the sun at the beach. I have seen minis all over the place and I've been able to talk to a few of the drivers asking if they love them. On the drive down we went through Chattanuga TN and there are is a great highway that goes through the smokeys that begs for a mini to drive. Unfortunatlly We have our CRV which is not as much fun. We'll be home soon and I'll have my mini back. Hope everyone is good. Keep motering.

Hey everyone, I didnt want to start a new thread, so I will ask here.

I was interested in borrowing a pulley puller if anyone in the Lincoln area had one.
Thanks

All I have is the belt tensioner tool. The pulley puller I used was a loaner from Alta when I bought my pulley.
