K&N Typhoon CAI Question

K&N Typhoon CAI Question
I am looking at buying a K&N Typhoon CAI for my Cooper. Outmotoring.com said that it does not fit the 05 models, but does it fit the 06? The K&N website shows that it is compatible but why would it fit the 02-04 and the 06 but not the 05s? I'm a little confused on this one...

Yea, you'll find that a lot of people will not buy it because of that,
even though many have installed it, including myself on my 2005 MC 5spd. It's a bit tight but do you expect it to be roomy under that tiny hood?!?!?
It will work, and it does touch slightly on the hood liner, and I've been meaning to cut a patch out, but I'm sure it doesn't affect anything anyway.
Make sure it's really tightened down. A few weeks after installing mine I noticed that it had popped off and I was sucking air right into the throttle body! Oops. Shouldn't have been that long tho.

Sounds great and you can do it yourself, even if you're not mechanically inclined!
