Cooper S rear swaybar
Cooper S rear swaybar
Has anybody without the SS+swaped out their rear bar for a S (SS+) bar? My concern is this - the car came from the factory with a certain ammount of understeer dialed in which is a nice saftey net for street driving. I don't want to completly get rid of that saftey net - just reduce it slightly. I also don't want to stiffen up the ride much at all as I drive in extremly urban areas. Any feedback from anyone who has done this or who has input would be much appreciated. Has any body done a 19mm bar? Hollow or solid? I know people are doing 22mm bars on the S - what are peple choosing for the cooper? I prefer the factor bushings (or bushings that don't need to be lubricated) or something with a grease fitting.
Last of all - any feedback on blistein shocks or any other shocks other than koni?

Hi, this has been discussed in detail before, I've found some links to previous threads, you can find more by using the search function on the forum

BTW H&R sway bars come with teflon coated bushings which doesn't require lube and doesn't squeak. I have them on my MINI and it stays quiet even in -25C weather.

i have a full set of SS off an S if you would like it cheap. it does make the car handle a bit better, but a 19 or 22 would be better. but not as cheap. feel free to give me a call.
