2002 mini cooper sleeper

I have a 2002 mini cooper and I want to make it a stealth/sleeper for unofficial racing. What mods should I use? Im thinking a radar/lieder wave absorbent spray like vail and a detector of some kind. However i know nothing about the mods I should use. Help?

You may be barking up the wrong tree here. I've been around MINI's since 2002 and there is only so much power you can get out of the Cooper. I have a 2006 with intake and exhaust, and I love it. It's easily my favorite car I've ever owned. It's fast enough, but if some old lady in a Maxima wants to race - I'm toast. I'd say try an aFe intake and an exhaust. That will wake the motor up a bit, and it will feel faster. Thats really all that matters. If you decise you want a faster MINI, pick up a used JCW.

I agree with above. We have the aFe intake here if interested: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg2.htm#item8 REMUS exhausts are here with free shipping for the month of March: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0. Good luck with your mods.

I was thinking about one of these to boost horsepower:

http://new.minimania.com/part/NME424...i-Cooper-Non-s or maybe one of these http://new.minimania.com/part/SPR209...61-F55-F56-F54

For the price of those, you can throw a couple of bolt-ons and get a custom tune that will do a better job than the unichip and can be made to enhance throttle response as well, minus the "on the go" settings. If it's a base Cooper (as the section where it's posted suggest), I'd suggest getting a S/JCW/GP if speed is something OP wants. There's only so much you can do with the base model if you're into racing, unless we're talking auto-x or something along those lines.

He's talking about unofficial racing, so if he really plan on street racing against other people, he's gonna have a bad time with a non-S. A MINI is a car made to handle in corners, not a street racing machine.
