Installed ECS's new coversion wiper blades

I installed the new conversion wiper blades and wiper arms that ECS sells that allow 2013 wipers to be installed on earlier R56s. They are great.

I have a 2010. What are the advantages of the 2013 wipers?

They are a simpler architecture. Look at the first post and you'll see the initial pics. The original blade are conventional in design where these are spring steel.

Is a wiper arm puller really necessary for this job?

It makes thing easier and pull it straight up so you don't damage the splines on the wiper and motor arm side. If you have a Gen 1 MINI that never had them off , they tend to stick a little. Then when you reinstall just line up to the old potion.

DIY.

Puller tool: Can be used on MINI and many other car brands, Currently on sale.

Easy to remove you old ones with the Schwaben Wiper Arm Tool. ES2190252

If you lift the wiper arm so it is in a L shape, you can slightly rock it and it will usually release the taper. Don't apply too much pressure, just rock it and it should loosen up without a puller.

You can rock it out, just watch the thread, so you dont chew them up. The tool makes sure that does not happen , also if they stick shoot a little pb blaster on the top.

The picture doesn't show that you really should put a towel under the wiper and tool, cause it will pop when released, and fall on your hood!!
