Rear bumper replacement

Hi friends,
I hope I am posting this in the correct forum. While I'm very used to forums, and even mod one, I'm new here and had a hard time figuring out where I should post this. My apologies if I was incorrect. I also did a search and didn't really find what I was looking for.

I recently purchased a used 06' Mini Cooper; from Nashville, TN. It is a fantastic car and I love it more every day. While I'm from Chicago, I wish I could live in Europe; so this helps me cope (for now.)

Anyway, down to the story. It was -4ºF today and I took a drive to work. At work, I backed up and bumped into a light pole pretty lightly, but enough to shatter the back corner of my bumper; partly due to the temp I think. (You're probably all cringing right now.) I'm SUPER bummed as I've been trying to take great care of the car. I'd like (if possible) to not make an insurance claim for this and just repair it myself.

So, my questions are:

1. Is it possible to repair this myself?
2. If so, where do you suggest I go about purchasing the bumper?
3. Point me to some good tutorials on how to repair this.

It's metallic dark blue if anyone is wondering.

Thanks all and cheers.
