How to start MCS?

Hi, I was just wondering which is the correct procedure to start the car. Do I have to wait for all the lights to go out, or can I just turn the key all the way and start it. I ask because sometimes my car starts and sometimes it doesn't. Also my EML and the service engine light stay on for about 2 seconds after starting the engine.

Thanks in advance for the help.

No wait time needed, just turn it on.

It's normal fir those lights to stay on a few econds after you start the engine. The car is simply going thru all the system checks.

Intermittent starting is not normal and should be checked out.

I typically let the fuel pump prime before I begin cranking the starter. Its a habit my CBR made me develop....and I feel like it typically takes less cranks when I do this starting procedure.
