I was going to go this way but actually had a really hard time finding JUST a muffler. Ended up with a great deal on a Borla cat-back, but subscribed to this thread now out of general curiosity. Hope someone can help!

Before you run off completely, how much did you pay for it?
Thanks for all your help so far.

$200 in the Marketplace here, used. Beats $700+tax new! My muffler/tire shop is trying to track down the appropriate gaskets and clamps so I won't have it installed until next week probably, but when I do I'll post a thread with a sound/video clip.

It seems to be a popular exhaust for the R50 although it is not cheap. Megan Racing makes one that's popular as well and under $400. Way @ WayMotorWorks is the man to speak to about that one. There is an R50 exhaust thread SOMEWHERE on here, if I can track it down i'll post.

I'm thinking of just cutting off my rear muffler and putting in one of these:

I don't think the Non-S Cooper makes enough power to justify increasing the piping size with the use of an aftermarket exhaust kit, so I believe stock piping is plenty good.

Very interesting idea. I had a Supertrapp on an old Yamaha SR-500. I don't know how much power it actually added, but the butt dyno was impressed, and it sounded good.

Yeah, I seen a few pictures of Minis with them and it looks pretty cool. I also like that I can adjust for sound and back pressure.

This is a cool idea! I don't think the non- will benefit a great deal by switching out exhaust systems, but I think going with a muffler that fits the style and look or your car is always a neat mod when done tastefully.
