It's silicone with aluminum piece for nitrous and fuel port. The one I had earlier was silicon left over from a turbo inlet with a 45 degree bend. You don't want to get too weak on the silicone- 2-3 ply minimum. I'd just go with a aluminum 45 degree bend, filter and a 3-4" silicone coupler. The filter material and design of filter is key.

I added my intake for obvious reasons and my airbox was cracked and a air filter from mini covered the cost of an intake. I'm avoiding any horsepower discussion as I've seen this area argued over for 15 years. I do love the sound. It opens up that area of the motor and takes away some of the god awful plastic in the engine bay. To each their own.

I am thinking of just getting an aluminum elbow and wrapping it. I was actually looking for the size that I would need to couple it. Also I am going to have the pipe flushing cold air from the grill.

I cut a section out of the plastic near the intake. I also retained the oem tube that brings cold air from grill.
