Robin Casady Shift Knobs
Robin Casady Shift *****
Hey y'all-
Just thought I'd share this with those interested in Robin Casady's shift *****...
On his site he only mentions them fitting R53 and R56 models, but after hearing from him directly, he said they will fit R50s as well.
I just ordered a shift ****/e-brake handle combo. I'll let you know how it turns out-

Pardon the late post.
I'm sure you all were waiting for this one... So let's get right to it.
Here are a couple low-res photos of the pieces installed. I'll post some better shots soon.
Installation on this was a breeze after "wrassling" the stock **** off. I ended up having to sand the shift lever down a small amount to get the Whalen adapter to fit properly. (I chatted with Doug Whalen about this, and this sounds like a very rare case. He recommended sanding .001"-.002" from the lever. Worked perfectly. Great service once again, Doug
)
The e-brake handle piece is a bit longer than stock, so the release button doesn't protrude as much. I can still release it with my thumb, and IMHO, it even looks a bit cleaner.
The one hitch I ran into was in the ordering process; when I breezed over which model it was for, and ended up getting the wrong Whalen adapter. My bad. Robin was great and helped get things straightened out right away.
Since I haven't ever tried a Whalen Shift Machine, I can't say how it compares, but I can say I definitely like shifting much more with the new ****. It's a little heavier than stock and a bit smaller. The contour is great.
Shipping was around $17 for both pieces and came 2-day priority.
Bottom line: Yeah, it's a little on the expensive side when you get both pieces, but it really upgrades the look of the interior quite a bit. Shifting is smoother; and darnit, they just look good! Excellent craftsmanship. Impeccable looks.
