Hi, MINI Ph Peeps. I inquired with Joselu about our proposed Driving Clinic with Kookie Ramirez in Subic. He mentioned that Kookie is available anytime this January except January 20. Suggested date is either Saturday January 27 or Sunday January 28.

A per head fee of 5K will be charged for one whole day and this will include track use. Minimum of 4 paying heads should participate for this to push through though.

Those interested please reply as we have to book ahead of time before Kookie becomes unavailable on the proposed dates.

Eric and Joselu are coming but won't attend seminar as they've already surpassed that stage and instead will just use the track.

Didn't want to horn in on your thread, but I was just wondering what ever happened to the US Naval facility there at Subic Bay. I serviced the engines in the power plant for years and visited there many times. Did they close the power plant?

Where is the track? Is it on the old base or in Alongapo City?

No problem horning in anytime, Pooper. As you may notice, we could use a little activity in the MINIPh threads.

The Naval facility is not as active anymore since the US Air and Naval Forces left the bases. There are several local and international shipping activities using the good ports. The airbase is used by local and international airlines. There are also industrial activities. Fedex has a big warehouse in the bases and Subic is a transport point for them. I think Intel was once there before they transferred facility to another Southeast Asian country. (I could be wrong on this, though).

I am not sure about the powerplant. But it would be such a waste if the powerplant was not utilized for Olongapo's power needs.

The race track is at a landmark called Cubi Point, which is around 5 mins from the Subic Base airport.
