New flares

I want to put sportpack flares on my 78. It has the cheap flares now. Will the new flares look good with 12 inch wheels?

I think a sport pack flare would require a WIDE 12 inch wheel and tire to not look a little goofy. I have found that anything larger than 165-60-12 seems to be hard to find and a little expensive. I might consider 13 inch wheels if you are going with the sport pack arches. The tire and wheel options are far greater with the larger wheels. Just my opinion. Check out MiniMania.com

There is a thread on MiniMania that discusses the use of 12s on sportspack wheel flares. I tried to copy the link, but my CP is giving me fits. You will need a wide wheel, possibly deep dish to get the offset necessary for your wheels. Here are some pics of minis sporting 12s with wide arches

If you want to upgrade to 13s, here is a pic of my mini with 13x6 wheels.

Um, the white car is sporting 13 x 7 inch wheels, not 12s.

12s have a much better ride quality than 13s for various reasons, and look ok with the sportpack flares, assuming you flares will be genuine OEM products. Otherwise I'm sure we'll here of your frustrations in trying to fit them.
