choke cable

choke cable

ok, i give. what's the secret? i'm trying to replace my choke cable and i cannot for the life of me get my switch panel off so i can secure it. AAAAARRRRGHHH! can anyone give me any pointers? sheeesh.

no one jumping on this one either....

I had similar quandry when I accidentally loosened the choke cable locking nut to the point it fell off the back of the panel. There just ain't a good way to get your fingers back there! I didn't succeed in getting the switch panel off either.

I think you must need to remove the entire 'lower dash rail'. I haven't tried that yet since I did manage to get my cable back into place, but replacing the entire switch panel, switches and cables is on the 'do' list.

that rail is welded in. the switch panel, according to this month's MiniWorld, is held in by 2 screws which are supposedly much easier to access if you drop the heater. The pad for this rail is glued on - I just got my replacement fm MiniSport. Now I just need the switch panel, panel trim, choke and heater cable, and the rocker switches.... and a larger allowance....

OKeefe, what did you search for on minisport to find that pad? i cant seem to find it on the site? mine is falling apart!

That part is 'on special' in MiniSport's add in the current MiniWorld.

But be warned, cuz of the size, shipping was $$. Good time to get all you need from MS and fill the box.....
